Ashfire eyed Jadepaw and frowned slightly. She turned back to Nightsky, and fear for her brothers rose up in her chest. She felt as if icy claws had slit open her heart and it was bleeding out now, but she contained her violent emotions and kept a straight face, only allowing a bit of concern to emerge.
"Oh? I would ask, but it seems you don't want to say..." She looked down at her paws and frowned.
"Please forgive my selfishness in asking, but are my brothers alright?" She asked worriedly.

No. Nightsky wanted to say, feeling her heart ache for Saviorsoul. But What could she do now? He was gone, and she was starting over. Smiling as best she could, she nodded. "Yes." She said, choking the word out a bit. Ashfire would question, and Nightsky would tell. At least that was what Nightsky wanted, deep down. To tell her friend the truth. But if she did, what would Ashfire think of it?

Ashfire looked at Nightsky closely. What exactly had happened? Curiosity bubbled up inside of her. She blinked and then frowned.
"Are you Ok? Did... did something happen between you and my brothers?" She didn't know how she had come up with that idea, but the way Nightsky had reacted to her question told her that that must be it. What have those two mousebrains done? Ashfire thought with an inward sigh.

"I will have nothing more to do with him..." She said with a sigh. "Err, them..." She corrected herself with a blink. She just wanted to forget him. Nightsky wanted to just turn a new leaf.

Ashfire blinked. Him? Which one does she mean? What have those two been up to? Ashfire could see it was a painful subject. She was silent for a few moments and then dipped her head.
"I'm sorry to hear that. My brothers were always mousebrains. But enough about them, I guess. Let's go back to camp, shall we?" She asked, smiling despite the painful throb of her heart. Nightsky was a good cat, and she couldb't imagine why either of her brothers would hurt her? It was probably Ravennight... he's different after SilenceClan. Maybe he just wanted to hurt her on purpose? She thought darkly.

Nightsky nodded, refusing to say anything. Again, she felt the eerie feeling of being watched. But it was gone in an instant. Shrugging it off worriedly, she followed Ashfire and the eager apprentice back to camp. At least she'd have a friend to talk to, right?

Ashfire hoped Firestar wasn't too worried about her. She was not yet heavy with kits, but she wasn't exactly as fit as she'd like to be. Plus how strange would it be seeing someone you loved walking off with a strange, handsome tom? She sighed as she padded through the undergrowth towards the thunderClan camp. She padded through the entrance tunnel and emerged into the ravine, feeling a bit more settled now that she was among her Clanmates again. She turned and waited for Nightsky to emerge, her thoughts wound up in her brothers, her mate, and the rouge called Gaara.

Nightsky padded into the camp, smiling. Her blind blue eyes twinkled at the sounds and scents. She tasted the air, picking out the Warrior's den very quickly. Padding wordlessly into it, she settled down in an empty corner and rested from her long journey.
Firestar padded out of his den, saying nothing to his mate. What could he say? For all he knew, Ashfire's kits could be fathered by that tom. Maybe she wanted to leave with him. Maybe he was being led blindly again, only to be hurt. Whatever the circumstance, he remained silent as he at down next to Ashfire and stared out of the camp entrance in silence. He wasn't about to break the silence. Not yet.

Ashfire watched Firestar and wondered what he was thinking. She sighed softly and watched as he sat beside her. She waited for him to speak, but apparently he was going to say nothing.
"I lied before." She said guiltily. She sighed and stared at her paws. She wanted to tell Firestar the truth about Runningsoul's death, but it hurt to remember and it hurt even worse to know that she'd tricked her Clan into thinking she'd fought to protect her Clanmate... While in reality I stood and watched him die... She thought sadly.

Firestar felt his heart thump. What had she lied about? He hoped not what he thought, no being lead blindly about love. He decided to speak up. "I need to know who that tom is and what is his significance to you?" Be asked in fear of the answer.

Ashfire stared at her paws, unable to meet Firestar's eyes.
"I found him inside our border, literally tearing apart a mouse he'd caught. He looked so crazy... he was covered in blood. I told him to leave, and he seemed surprised for some reason. We met again naer the border of Twolegplace, and it just became... I don't know... a routine. I thought we were friends. We talked together and he told me of his home, and I told him about my brothers... But one day Runningsoul followed, and he just went balistic... he killed Runningsoul. I lied to protect myself as much as him. It was such a shock seeing him again. I thought I would hate him for what he'd done, but he looked so sorry..." Ashfire murmured sadly. She looked up at Firestar, wondering if he would be angry with her.

Firestar was unsure what to think. One the one paw, it wasn't as he suspected. Relief flooded through him. By on the other paw, she had lied about Rinnongsoul. Yet it seemed he was too relieved to care. "Well, at least I know now." He said with a smile; nuzzling her gently. But why did the rest of the Clan need to?

Ashfire sighed.
"Are you going to tell the Clan?" She asked quietly. Perhaps it would be the logical thing to do, but she shuddered at the thought of being called unloyal. I was lonely... that's all. Lonely. She thought, looking at Firestar and knowing that that wasn't true anymore.

"If you want. I don't see the need to reveal it. It only leads to trouble." Firestar said gently stroking his mate with his tail-tip. She seemed upset, but he didn't want to talk more about it. It only lead to trouble and pain, things Firestar preferred to avoid. He sighed and shook his head sadly, wishing the drama wasn't in his life.
[[When is she going to have kits?]]

OOC: Sooner or later I guess
BIC: Ashfire looked down at her paws and sighed.
"I'd prefer that you wouldn't say anything... if that's ok with you." She said quietly. She looked up at him and blinked slowly.
"I didn't lie about one thing, Firestar. I really do care for you. I'm sorry I dragged you into this mess." She sighed sorrowfully, wishing that she could take that awful time and rewrite what happened.

"I'm just glad you're okay." Firestar said with a purr. He hoped his mate didn't feel too terribly about anything that had happened. Runningsoul had been a valued Clanmate, but if she felt guilty or responsible she shouldn't. After all, he had followed her, right? And how can you attempt to kill a cat you'd befriended to save another friend? He understood the problem, and figured the Clan didn't need to know. Firestar was apart of the mess now, and he would help in any way he could. Sooner or later, he'd have to.

Ashfire smiled at him.
"Thanks." She purred, rubbing her muzzle against his gently. There were no more secrets now. She felt as if a load had been taken off her back. She blinked and turned slightly towards the Medicine cat's den. It was eerily still, and both Spottedleaf and Foxleaf's scents were stale.
"Where'd the Medicine cats get off to?" She wondered. She hadn't seen them in a while. She hoped they were Ok.

Before Firestar could reply, Ashpaw came bolting through the camp entrance. From the speed of his travel and the look on his face, it was serious. "Firestar! We have a... development. Not private." He added with a glance at Ashfire. He turned and beckoned he cats to follow.

Ashfire pricked her ears. She wondered what was going on. She got to her paws and looked from Firestar to Ashpaw with wide eyes. What's going on? She wondered.

Firestar followed Ashpaw quickly, scarcely keeping up with the silver tom. He saw his apprentice, and knew they were nearing the spot. When he got to the location, his breath was ripped from him and his heart stopped dead. In a little clearing, bloody and dead lay Spottedleaf and Foxleaf. Horror tore through the leader. Not only were two of the most amazing cats now dead, one of them whom he still loved, but they were the Medicine Cats. And then he realized what had happened. The Medicine Cats were dead, and his Clan was left without any healing cat.
