Sitting down in the smell of heat hitting the damp ground made a bad musky smell to Dreamwhisker nose. Grooming her fluffy white fur in vigorous licks, her mind was in thought of a nice mouse. The juicey thing filling her mouse as she bit down on it.
Shaking off the thought she sniff only to catch more musty small. "I hate this weather" Dreamwhisker mumbled to herself

Darkshard's pelt was covered with snow, but its colour was unaltered. He had just returned from hunting. He dropped a couple voles into the pile. He shivered as the snow soaked him to the bone. His blue gaze noticed Dreamwhisker eating. He grabbed a vole and went to join her. "Hey" he mewed.

"Hello" Dreamwhisker said back taking another big bite of mouse. Her thoughts was put out her head for the moment as Darkshard talked to her. "How was hunting" she asked pointing her tail to the fresh-kill pile then laying it softly over her paws.

Darkshard took a bite of the warm vole. "Pretty good considering the weather" he mewed. "How are you?" he asked.

"Same as being a apprentice I guess. Just no one bossing me around no more." She repeatiedly pressed her paws to the ground kneeding it. She wanted to run. "Want to come running with me?" she asked with a excitied meow.

"Why don;t we work of that energy in a useful way, like hunting" he suggested. He tried to keep a straight face but his eyes glittered with amusement.

"Now you gonna tell me what to do" she snapped playifully standing to her. The snow that still laid on the ground blended to her fur. "Prey seems to be running a bit better" walking toward the entrince and turning her head around waiting for Darkshard.

Her paws ran slowly, she was never the fastest runner. "Elder" she teased calling back softly not to scare away in prey that might be around. Her paws tingled and mind raced but she kept forward not to look back at the tom.

Darkshard just shook his head. He stretched before jolting after her. He ran swiftly past her. "Now whos the elder?" he teased.

Stopping the smell of a bird came from a branch. Her eyes watch waiting walking slowly up. Leaping her body toward the small bird its wings spread open about to take off... only it was to late. A swift claw hit it down sending it to its death. Picking up the bird Dreamwhisker ran up toward darkshard burying it when he found him stopped.

Darkshard had stopped and turned. He saw the young warriors graceful catch. "Great catch" he mewed.

"Nothing compared to my old mentor" she mewed his praised sending her ears burning. She close her eyes remembering Hamiliton, a old kittypet she talk to. She remembered feeling the same way those that moon with him and the undesirible journey home after. She blinked her eyes open the the sunshine coming down on her. Purring in content she took off running again not waiting for Darkshard knowning he could easily catch up.

Darkshard blinked and she was off. He raced after her. He altered his course slightly, he lept as a rabbit darted. He caught it under his massive paws. He bit it then buried it. He raced after her again.

The rush of ground under her soft paws turn rougher to rocks. Trees were thinning out and puddled of water sat on the ground. I never been here she thought sniffing the air for prey. The smell of a mouse came from a group of small shrubs. Nothing moved but safty didn't seem that serious to her when it came to hunting. Jumping at the plants something counter-attacked quickly back, A snake. Black in it scale pelt it missed her by a inch as she scrammbled in the air.

Darkshard raced towards Dreamwhisker. His white paws glided over the thinning grass and rocks. This place was dangerous, snakes and a few rats liked to live there. He skidded to a halt and saw the adder. He reared on his hind legs and crashed down on the black snake. The snake squirmed trying to bite his paw. He bit reluctantly, the foul taste of its skin flodding his mouth. He picked it up in his jaws. "Lets go" he mewed. He started to run back towards the grass.

Running back to the grass, Dreamwhisker chest was heaving as gasp of breath filled her mouth. Staring at Darkshard her foolish thinking made her embarrassed. "Thanks" she said as her breathing went down and eyes started to go back to normal instead of the fear. "I thought i was gonna be Snake kill" she whisper walking closer to him

Darkshard slowed to a walk, his breathing was heavy. "I wouldn;t let that happen" he mewed through the snake.
