Startled, all Gaara could do was trip over his paws as he raced after the young cat. Whew, he's goanna be a pawful! Gaara thought, but he was excited by that fact. He wasn't sure why, but he already felt attached to Longan somehow. He'd only just met him, but the tom had some sort of likable aura - Gaara had no clue, and he didn't care. He just wanted to run with his new companion.
"Well, will that route include breakfast anytime soon?" He asked when he had caught up to the cat. He hadn't eaten in a while, and he was somewhat hungry despite his best efforts to not feel the pressure of an empty stomach.

[[You know, I don't think Gaara will ever fall in love with Birdie at his rate... He and Foalan are a much better pair! I mean, if you want...]]
Longan hadn't thought about breakfast. He had a stomach full of stale water and foul, crunchy food. He nodded, stopping dead and smiling. It was a fun trick, because Gaara would either also try to stop and stumble over his own paws, or keep going and then have to come back. It was always fun to play tricks like that. "Sure! You hunt, I'm stuffed!" He teased playfully.

OOC: Sure, whatever you like.
BIC: Gaara was surprisingly agile for a tom his size. He pressed his weight onto his back paws and slid to a neat stop beside Longan. He stretched and then shook himself, puffing out his coarse, rich ginger fur. He smiled sideways at Longan and then scented the air. He padded a little ways off and then dropped into a crouch. He prowled forward and then leaped at the mouse as soon as he thought it the right timing. Normally he would have played with it a little before he ate it, but this time he dealt a swift blow to its neck, snapping its spine, and carried it back to where Longan was. He ate a few bites and then looked up at the tom.
"Sure you don't want some?" He asked, smiling.

"I'm full of stale water and foul pellets that taste like the behind of a dog." Longan said disapprovingly, spitting in disgust. He shook his head. "You enjoy." He said with a purr, standing to chase his tail. If eh ever stopped moving, he might become lazy and then become fat, and then where would he be in life? Smiling, the tom sat down and began to groom his cut, which was held together with some strange stuff. He tried not to think about it too hard, but he couldn't believe he was technically no longer male. Nor female. He was just an existence. It was a horrifying thought, to be nothing but alive. No gender or really truly anything more about him. The Cutters had taken away everything. But by taking away everything, they had given him everything. Suddenly, he blinked in confusion. A handsome dark grey tom with vibrant amber eyes stalked toward him. Smiling, the tom dipped his head. "Life isn't so bad, right? Relax a little. Just lay down and enjoy some rest..." The tom vanished, and Longan blinked. Was he going crazy? "Did you see that tom?" He asked Gaara in confusion.

Gaara ate the rest of his mouse and began grooming his ruffled fur. Many battles and seasons of poor grooming had made it rough and sometimes it stuck up at odd angles, but it was somewhat fetching in some ways. It made him look more handsome than if his fur had been slick and silken. Gaara looked up, startled, when Longan spoke. He looked around and frowned.
"I wasn't looking, but I didn't scent anyone nearby." He meowed, puzzled. Had Longan seen another cat? It seemed likely, but why hadn't Gaara noticed? He'd been trained to know if other cats were around at all times. Perhaps my senses are dulling somewhat? He wondered thoughtfully.

"He was dark grey, strong and proud, with amber eyes. He said 'Life isn't so bad, right? Relax a little. Just lay down and enjoy some rest...'. I think he's a spirit trying to make me lazy..." Longan thought in horror. He must be crazy, seeing spirit-cats who were trying to turn him into something he was not. Must be the twoleg stuff. He remembered the painful needle, that burning liquid that had made him unconscious. Must make a ca crazy until it wears off. Maybe that was why neutered toms were lazy, spirit-cats told them so!

Gaara smiled slightly, amused somewhat by the worried look on the cat's face.
"Probably just some whack-a-doo Twoleg stuff messin' with your mind. And I wouldn't give up on yourself just yet. I've seen plenty of fit... um... cats in your circumstances... and they'll tell you not to give up, quick as catchin' a hare." He meowed with a smile.

Longan nodded. "I agree." He meowed, agreeing to everything the smart tom said. He blinked gratitude at Gaaram grateful to have such a wonderful, caring friend with him here. He didn't know what would happen if he didn't have Gaara with him. Nodding, he turned to his friend. "Finish up and we run some more?" He asked, eagerly chasing his tail to keep himself active.

Gaara had buried the remainders of his prey already. He turned and smiled slightly at Longan.
"For a cat who feels he must fear becoming fat and lazy you sure like to run." He meowed, his grin widening until it lit up his well-pronounced features. He padded past Longan and towards the forest.
"I know lots of great places around here. I'm one of those cats who likes knowing his territory. So anyplace you want, I can take you there." He said. He flicked his tail and looked over his shoulder expectantly.

"Well, for now I just want to feel free." Longan said with a smile. He was still trying to grasp the thought that he was a wild cat now, no warm bed or food ready for him. He couldn't hunt, he couldn't swim or climb, he could scarcely do more than walk or run. He had to grasp that he could run, and he had to run. Run forever, if it took him a forever or eternity. He just had to run. To be free. Run.

"The moors give such a fine feeling... like freedom. You'll be able to run for a long ways." He meowed, smiling. He himself loved the moors. They reminded him somewhat of his home, where he was born... in DesertClan.

[[I'll let Gaara run into Birdie again, and then meet Foalan, and you decide!]]
Longan nodded with a smile. "Let's go!" He said, nodding at Gaara and shooting off like a rocket. He followed instinct more than anything else, not sure if he was actually heading for moorland.

OOC: Alright.
BIC: Gaara nodded and followed at a slower pace. He cast a glance over his shoulder and then let out a sigh. Things were definately looking up. He scented Clanners and winced, feeling his bloodlust spiking again. I must keep my mind off of this... habit. I am not kept prisoner by such a wanton desire. He told himself firmly. He led Longan onto the moors and stopped as they crested a hill. Scents blew toward him, reminding him of his homeland. A smile spread across Gaara's face, making his usually-emotionless eyes shimmer.
"So how do you like it?" He asked Longan, smiling widely.

Longan was speechless. "That is incredible!" He meowed, speechless.
"What's a kit like you doing out here?" A familiar, silvery and very bird-like voice cooed. Longan spun around, a grin spreading across his face.
"Birdie!" He cried, running up to the she-cat and nuzzling her. She purred happily, glad to see her best friend's adopted kit once more.

Gaara turned and just stared. Ah, the she-cat from before. He thought. She posed no threat to them - obviously - so he just watched. The wind off the moors stirred his medium-long ginger fur, with its finely accented dark ginger stripes and its creme belly fur. Gaara's eyes, a pale turqoise color, stayed locked on the two. He dipped his head slightly to Birdie but said nothing, his expression not exactly cold, but not as interested as it might be.

Birdie looked up with a smile at the tom. He was the uncomfortable one from earlier, though he seemed better now. "This is Birdie! She's the bestest!" Longan said with a purr of amusement as Birdie flicked his ear with her tail. Birdie made an elegant bow and winked. "Birdie at your service." She meowed jokingly, hoping that the tom would not be once more set off.

Gaara smiled.
"Nice to see you again." He meowed with a nod. His pale green-blue eyes flickered as he gast a glance at Longan. So he knows this she-cat to? It seems the Kittypets have keener friendships than i would have thought. But when have I been concerned with anyone but myself? Gaara suddenly realized he felt distaste towards his own former life. Perhaps I really am going to recover from the first years of my life. It makes me glad to think so. He thought, and the kind, gentle smile on his face was startling in contrast to what it once had been.

"Birdie, this is Gaara. He is showing me the world!" Longan squeaked happily, sneezing and then laughing. "So I've come to know." She said with a purr, looking Gaara over. He seemed different, but she didn't know how. She smiled slyly and purred in amusement. "Dealing with this ball of fun is quite a task." She meowed, rolling her eyes sarcastically and winking at Gaara. Longan squeaked, shocked. "Really?" Without warning, Birdie pounced at Longan who quickly dove to the side as she slid through the grass. "No." She said as she sat up, grooming dirt from her fur.

Gaara watched all with a curious but somewhat cool expression. But when Birdie leaped on Longan he tensed, leaning forward as if to save the kit. But when she seemed only to be playing he relaxed and nodded.
"Yes he is quite... energetic. But then, I haven't had such fun in quite some time." He meowed honestly, smiling at Longan.

Birdie smiled, nodding. Longan purred happily. "He and I play like that." Birdie explained to Gaara, whom she had noticed tense. Suddenly, a wave of memory washed over her. She fought back the pain as she realized Gaara was a lot like a past cat she had known. "You remind me of someone..." She meowed softly, trying not to be overcome by emotion again. Her claws slid out slowly, and she examined them. "They were not meant to kill." She said even softer.
