Gaara smiled and nodded.
"Yes, good. I think they'll be alright. Those kits will be strong one day, I bet." He meowed, purring as Essence blinked her kit-blue eyes at him and mewled questioningly. He crouched and licked her head. She purred and he felt a burst of pride settling in his heart. She was always so cold, though. No matter what he did, she was always really cold. I wonder why. But it doesn't seem to bother her. He thought.

Birdie nodded and sighed.
"Our kits will be strong, too." She said with a brilliant grin. She licked Fell's fur softly and he purred. She then stroked him as she watched him, mesmerized by him. She didn't know why, though. Then she licked STartled Heron who mewled softly and she smiled, stroking Essence gently. Two girls, one boy, three beautiful kittens.

Essence lay with her eyes closed, listening. She understood all the words spoken by her parents. She could have spoken if she had wanted to. But she didn't. She just purred softly - what a strange noise, but a familiar one, as well - when her mother stroked her. She then gently left her body, shrinking inside of herself to that dark place where the black stones of memory and thoughts drifted along in the ever-flowing river of destiny and life. Essence curled up around one stone in particular, rubbing it and listening to her father's thoughts.
Yes. They will be. But what sort of strength, I wonder?
