Gaara turned to his mate and sighed. She looked utterly... shocked somehow. But Foalan's death, at that point, wouldn't have been so surprising. He padded forward and gently brushed her muzzle with his.
"What's troubling you, Birdie? You look... well, not as I would expect you to." He murmured.

"She told me I'd see her in... in two sunrises....." Birdie meowed in disbelief. "I don't want to die..." She added, still shocked and stunned. Her unbreakable gaze was held by nothingness as she stared off into the empty air in fear. What had her daughter meant? Was she really about to die?

Gaara stiffened.
"What?" He meowed, horrified. No, how can this be? I can't lose Birdie! He thought desperately. He nuzzled her gently, trying to relieve his own stress as well as hers.
"I'm... I'm sure you'll be fine." He choked out, feeling a little weak. He shied away from all thoughts, the only thing occupying his mind was his mate's presence beside him, and his kit's soft mews.

Birdie nodded but sighed. She lay her head down and realized how exhausted she was. "She was crazy. I bet she was just leaving a mark as she went." She said with a sigh. She'd think more about it in the morning.

Gaara curled up beside his mate and layed his tail over her protectively.
"Don't worry, dearest Birdie. I won't let anyone hurt you." He murmured in her ear, rubbing gently against her soft fur. I won't let you die. I can't. He thought.

Two sunrises later, Birdie sighed softly. "I hate to be a burden but could you go hunting?" She asked softly. "I'll be okay." She added with a small nod. If she wasn't so hungry... By she'd be fine. She was certain.

Gaara turned and looked at Birdie, blinking. He nodded and stood, stretching before he padded out of the den and into the cool morning air. He padded into the forest and scented a mouse. He padded forward, his body low to the ground, his mind intent on his hunt. He had forgotten about Foalan's ominous words. All he wanted now was to provide for his mate.

Inside the den, a strange commotion went on. A shocked gasp echoed lonely and cold from it, and then silence fell. Birdie smiled as her friend quickly told her of the happenings and how it had all worked out. She gladly listened until her friend decided to part. Birdie blinked as she vanished, with her two kits as well. Smiling sadly, she looked at her own three kits and felt relief at Foalan's words.

OOC: Ok totally have no idea what just happened ^.^
BIC: Gaara padded back towards the den with two mice in his jaws, dangling by their tails. He could smell nothing besides the warm preyscent that came from them, and he was content enough not to be worried as he slipped into his den. He blinked as he emerged into the central chamber and smiled as he set down his mice.
"Hey, Birdie!" He exclaimed happily, wondering what had happened. Then he noticed that Renegade and Foalan's kits were gone. He cocked his head slightly and just stared. What had happened?

[[My point exactly... : D ]]
Birdie smiled vividly and relief was playing across her face. "Coma! A cat's coma, I guess. She was dead. But she says a kind spirit showed her home. She couldn't have done it without Renegade's love and the thought of leaving him and her kits." Birdie said as she thought about her daughter. Cats coming back to life, cats dying, all sorts of craziness in the forest. But Birdie was too relieved to notice.

Gaara blinked and looked at her in bewilderment.
"W-wha...?" He stammered, confused. Was she talking about Foalan? Birdie wasn't becoming crazy or something, was she? He sure hoped not. But what could she mean...?

"She said there's a way to come back from the dead. Then she went to find Renegade and reunite her family." She said with a sigh. So it would all be okay. That was good.

Gaara stared at his paws, remembering Renegade's expression. There's no hope... He wondered how his brother would react to Foalan reappearing. He recalled a friend of his father's, long ago...
"No..." He sighed, "That can't be good..." He looked back at the tunnel, his ears flattened. Father's friend tore his mate apart when she supposedly returned from the dead... though she'd just gone missing. Could Renegade believe that she's just a spectre and kill her...? Again...? He wondered.

"What?" Birdie asked, instantly concerned. It was all too confusing for her. She felt sick and her head spun but she ignored it and sighed softly.

Gaara sighed.
"Cats from DesertClan tend to be... somewhat superstitious. I don't think Renegade would take it lightly if some random cats comes up and tells him its his beloved ressurected. But then again I could be wrong." he meowed, shrugging.

Birdie nodded in understanding. She too had been pretty freaked out. "She says it wasn't resurrected, so much as a coma. And right before she went to the light she thought of Renegade and the kits, and fought back to full health." Birdie reassured with a brief nod of satisfaction.

Gaara nodded.
"Still, it'll be wierd. I guess I can trust he'll be rationale... although for some reason he always considered himself very dumb. Even my mother praised his intelligence when he wasn't around, but he always looked down on himself..." Gaara mused.

"Good." Birdie said with a sigh, hoping that Gaara was right. After all, she did care about Foalan. Even if it was only the tiniest bit of care.
