Barely struggled to be free of the big cat's grip. He kicked its jaw and the cat released him with a startled gasp. He crawled away with surprising speed, vanishing into the undergrowth...
Four moons later... [/i] Barley crouched, his tail tip twitching, his emerald eyes fixed on some unseen prey. His jaw open slightly to allow scents to pass through the glands on the roof of his mouth, he inched forward slowly, his pure red claws unsheathed. His belly was twisted with intense hunger, and his teeth dripped with saliva. He wanted nothing more than to sink his claws into a juicy mouse; the one he was stalking. Barley had never been taught to hunt, but he'd learned a few things on his own, hiding from the strange Wildcats that had been known to be dangerous. He paused, his ears flicking forward and his eyes widening, and then he leaped forward. As soon as he did, though, something else shot from another bush and rammed into him, throwing him aside as the she-cat dove and caught the mouse. Barley got to his paws, bristling, and whirled on the she-cat. "Hey, that was mine!" He growled, but his face froze when he saw her. She looked so familiar, even though she was older. "I-Ivy...?" He stuttered, his eyes wide with astonishment. OOC: Sorry I sorta messed with her a bit. -.- But it was just too funny to resist.

Ivy watched with amusement as a small mouse scuttled around. Her prey. She'd catch herself a full meal any day. She listened to the mouse, all the while scenting and pinpointing it. Even being herself, she didn't have the slightest bit of trouble hunting. Deciding the mouse was close enough to catch, she leaped with surprising strength. For her young age she was very small. However, her back legs were about as powerful as a cat's could be. She felt something knock into her, but she continued on her course and caught the mouse anyway. Standing, she swiveled to face the voice that spoke. "Yes, and I didn't notice you." She said, her tail flicking in annoyance at her face. She dropped the mouse and buried it with dirt, sitting down and coking her head to one side. "How do you know my name?"

Barley remembered his sister only faintly. He recalled her warmth, her soft purr, and just a little of what she looked like. He remembered a cat dropping him onto the Thunderpath, and that had been the last time he'd seen his sister. Now, she was standing before him, much older. His eyes wide and his heart thumping, he took a step back instinctively, wondering what sort of mirage this was. Even in his darkest, most lonely dreams he had never imagined ever meeting her again... He had thought he would always be alone.
"It's me. Your brother... Barley." He meowed hesitantly.

"Barley?" The name was extremely familiar to Ivy. She stepped toward the tom, scenting the air. It smelled like her old nursery mate. Was it really? She smiled and purred her old, loving purr as she stepped over to him and nuzzled him softly. "Barley." She said the name like her mother had said it, with such love and praise. It was a sweet way to speak, and Ivy had adopted it like her mother had. She sat down and stared at him, her murky blue gaze clear and loving. "Where've you been all this time?"

Barley purred as he felt his sister's familar touch, and drank in her familiar smell. He sat back on his haunches and just stared at her, taking in everything from her pretty eyes to her delicate frame. She'd changed over the past few moons, and he had no doubt that he had, as well. He was developing his mother's more lean body and his father's arched ears, as well as his regal nose that was slanted in an abnormal curve. His eyes were a deep green, like his father's brother's, and his black and white fur was soft and lucious as his mother's was, though not the same color.
"I've been hiding out around these parts, trying to stay away from the Wildcats. I tried to follow you but some ShadowClanners caught me and I had to escape. By then I couldn't find your scent. The Thunderpath had scattered it away on the wind..." He meowed a little sadly, remembering his fear as he sat alone and shivering under a bramble bush. It had been a miracle - as well as help from some loners - that he'd even survived.

Ivy listened intently to the tale, trying very hard to imagine it. However, lacking color and imagery made her imagination a sorry dud. She sighed and looked at her paws as he spoke, seeing nothing. When she decided it was her turn to speak, she smiled up at him. "I had a rougher time. Nobody found me, and eventually I got so hungry instinct took over. I just went hunting and it seemed the prey came right to me! I guess I'm a natural, even without my sight." She sighed as she said it. It had to be wonderful to see. She imagined it very well was. Her brother was so lucky. Looking up at him, she frowned. "Anything strange happened to you?" She asked, her voice thick with worry and fear.

Barley was startled by the realization, but then he wasn't as surprised as he wished he could be. One of the cats that had helped him had been blind, and his blue eyes were quite like Ivy's - misty, hard to focus on. He blinked and then looked down at his paws.
"Nothing that interesting. I've been all over the four territories, though. It's dangerous to stay in one place. It took me a bit longer to find food, but some loners helped me out now and again so I've been fine... so far." He meowed, wondering what would happen now. Would Ivy travel with him? Would he be able to be with his sister again? Maybe they could find their parents? He hoped so. His stomach rumbled and he flinched. He hadn't eaten for three days, but he still wondered at how he could be hungry at a time like this.

Ivy smiled at her brother and nodded. "I couldn't leave the woods. I know them. I have to know the land to survive in it." She said with a sigh. Because what dangers and unknown surroundings were in the other territories? She swept the dirt off of her mouse and pushed it over to him. "I'm not all that hungry." She said with a friendly grin.

Barley looked at her and blinked. He was too hungry to refuse, so he thanked her quietly and took a bite out of the warm prey. After he had sated his hunger - in a manner of seconds - he looked up and licked blood off his mouth, his green eyes twinkling with hope.
"So... what now? Should we stay together? Maybe we can find mother and father again! They have to be somewhere around here." He meowed, so excited he began babbling fast enough for his words to sound slurred.

Ivy looked away for a moment, pondering what he said. Eventually she looked back at him, hurt shining in her blind blue eyes. She shook her head sadly. "If they wanted us would we be here?" She didn't want him to leave her, no. But she couldn't bear rejection from her parents. Obviously they were unwanted. Also, she though, who would want a blind daughter? She felt her heart ache as she looked away from where she knew Barley was.

Barley's shoulders slumped forward a little and his whiskers drooped.
"Oh, well... um... ok..." He meowed miserably. But then his ears pricked and his eyes lighted up.
"But that doesn't mean we can't be together, right?" He asked cheerfully.

"After so long, why not?" Ivy said with a bright grin. She was glad that Barley would at least want to be with her, as ti seemed no other cat could find a blind friend very interesting. She nodded and stood, stretching. "So, what next?" She asked. After moons she had found her brother, maybe the last cat on the planet to care about her. Yet she hadn't the slightest idea of what came next.
[[They should go meet Weepingpaw. That'd be cool. :3 ]]

OOC: Ok
BIC: Barley smiled.
"Let's go on an adventure! We should just follow the wind and never look over our shoulders!" He exclaimed, leaping in the air with excitement. The black leaf-shaped marking on his flank shimmered strangely in the light, and his emerald eyes sparkled as he stared into the depths of the forest.

Ivy rolled her eyes. Like she could look over her shoulders anyway. With a nod, she set off through the mysterious woodlands of her home. She knew how to avoid the tree-falling monsters or maneuver around the undergrowth. She was very talented having grown up in the woods, and as she went she began to feel herself reaching the river. Her eyes twinkled as she heard its familiar sound, and she turned to look at her brother. "Has anything... strange, happened to you?"

Barley turned slightly and looked at his sister, then thought deeply about her question.
"Well," he meowed hesitantly, "This one time I was walking along the Thunderpath and I found a cat that had been hit by a monster. She was hurt real badly so I tried to help her. I touched her leg and all of the sudden it was totally like new! She said it didn't even hurt her! That wierd, right? It happens a lot for some reason." Barley meowed, somewhat disturbed by the thought.

"When I told you I hunted and the mouse came right to me..." Ivy looked at where the river was, trying to think how she could word it. "I wasn't kidding. It literally came to me." She blinked, turning her blind blue eyes to look at him as she sighed. Weird things that happened to her seemed to be just as strange as the floating mouse. She cocked her head to the side, listening to the splash of fish. She'd show him! "Watch." She meowed as she sat down, concentrating on the fish. Suddenly, she heard one rise out of the water. It plopped down in front of her and she placed a paw over its slippery surface to hold it in place while it suffocated.

Barley watched in amazement, puzzled and awed by the strange event. He looked up at her hesitantly and then down at his paws. He knew he was different. He unsheathed his claws and trew one over his leg. He winced a little as blood ran down his scratch, then he touched it with his pad. The sting instantly left, and he looked down to find not even a scar of the cut left.
"I can heal anything if I just touch it..." He meowed. He looked up at Ivy.
"You can somehow... I'm not sure, control prey...?" He shook his head in bewilderment.
"And I can blend into my surroundings." He started, leaping almost a tail length into the air and whirling around to see a ginger she-cat with intense blue eyes staring at them. She dipped her head.
"I am Okkurein, descendant of DesertClan. If my thinking is correct you, too, share my blood?" She asked, turning so that the sunlight caught on the black wolf-shaped mark on her shoulder. Barely felt a burning on his flank, where his own mark was. What's going on...? How is this all possible? He wondered.

[[Haha! Scarab and Okurrein could be mates. Because he may be DC, but he isn't related to the family specifically! xP]]
Ivy wondered what Barley was doing. Obviously demonstrating his powers. She was about to protest when he spoke about healing himself. She nodded intently, wondering how cool that must look to a foreigner. And then the foreigner spoke. "Well, Okurrein of DesertClan, I am Ivy of this woodland." She meowed in a friendly tone, her voice soft and light like a bird's wings. Her own facial star glowed softly, the cream-colored star becoming more of a white than cream around her left eye. She smiled at Okurrein, her friendliest smile, knowing that this cat was somehow similar to them.

OOC: Well technically Gaara and Chaos have different fathers, so Fell and Weepy are really somewhat strangely related, but if you want... *shrugs*
Okkurein looked at the two young cats and wondered at how she could have just stumbled upon them. She had been planning to go in search of the other Salinka, but here they were. Or at least some of them.
"Greetings to you, Ivy." She mewed.
"I'm Barley." The black and white tom said. Okkurein smiled at him and nodded.
"I see. And so, you come from the woods, then? Tell me about yourselves, please." She said eagerly, her eyes sparkling as she examined them. Barely shifted slightly and looked at his sister.
"Well, we come from this place beyond the Thunderpath, but I don't remember what it's called. Our mother's name is Foalan and our father is Renegade." He meowed. Okkurein felt as if she'd been knocked over but she just smiled.
"Oh, I see." She mewed.
"A cat named Chaos left us on a Thunderpath and we got seperated." Barley mumbled. They've obviously just recently found each other. Okkurein thought.

[[But the same mother is half-siblings relations. Do you think Brambleclaw and Mothwing make a cute couple? xD Exactly. But if you want to, I don't mind.]]
Ivy turned to look at her brother. He certainly remembered a lot. She only remembered waking up in the woods, and unfortunately lacking in visual aid. But hadn't their been a third in their party? She frowned but didn't think on it too much. Obviously the vibes coming from Okurrein when her brother mentioned their parents were suspicious. "Do you know any cats of such name?" She asked.
