Pacingwaters edged closer to the Bunt Sycamore. No one was training today, and she was having awful contractions. How can this be? She wondered painfully. Hiding under the tree, she gave birth to the first-Addaxkit, a light cream tom with a slightly darker grey-brown chest, muzzle, and a brown patch atop his head and ears. The second was Canarykit, a light golden-brown tom with a white belly and paws. Third was Iriskit, a white she-kit. The seond to last was Silverkit, a silver striped she-kit, like her father. And last was Mistkit. He was a soft silver tom. She sighed and rested her head on her paws as the kits began to suckle. Was she going to be a failure to these kits, as Chasinglight had been to her?

Iriskit gently suckled, her sweet nature coming across as she happily kneaded for milk. She was never to be the type that was cruel, unkind, or selfish as she was bumped around by other bodies fighting for food. She just continued to eat alone and without much of a fight or hassle. An easy kit.

"Pacingwaters?" Stonesearch called. He'd tracked her scent to the Burnt Sycamore after she hadn't returned. He stopped and scented the air again and then poked his head into the hollow tree.
"Pacingwaters?" He asked.
"What's up?" Midnightsun asked, looking over his shoulder. Stonesearch's eyes were huge as he looked down on his mate and his kits.
"P-Pacingwaters?" He stuttered. Midnightsun made a soft purring noise in his throat.
"Congradulations, tiger," he murmured, tapping Stonesearch's shoulder and moving off a little distance to give them privacy.

She purred.
"Surprise, right? I didn't know either." she sighed and named them off, one by one.
"Addaxkit, Canarykit, Iriskit, Silverkit, and Mistkit." She smiled, her eyes shining.

Stonesearch smiled widely.
"Yeah, surprise. Uh, nice names." He mewed awkwardly. He didn't know if he had any decision to make as far as names, so he didn't know what to say. He was happy that one of the kits were named after his mother, though. She deserved some recognition for her kind soul, despite the mistakes she made when she was alive.

Pacingwaters laughed.
"I know, I'm awkward around them, too. Sort of." She sighed and licked a paw, then stopped.
She looked up shyly at him. "I just can't believe it."

Stonesearch nodded and looked at the kits.
"They kinda look like us, don't they?" He asked, feeling pride well up inside of his chest.

[[Since no one had taken her, I adopted out Silver]]
Silverkit pushed her way through a sea of wriggling bodies, knocking Iriskit away. Iriskit did not whine, and instead curled up for sleep. Silverkit suckled loudly.

Pacingwaters purred at Silverkit.
"She looks like you, a lot." She eyed all the kits. And lay her head down, exhausted from the birthing. She lifted it again, eyes shining.
"We should get Bluefeather to come, to help us carry them back to camp. Bring Acaciaskies, too." She eyed Midnight sun carefully. He was a little distance off. Maybe he could help?
"Midnightsun! Come help us bring them back to camp!" She called.

Midnightsun padded over and gently popped his head into the tree.
"Sure. Want me to fetch some other cats to help?" He inquired.

"Bluefeather...and Acaciaskies....?" She blinked, feeling very exhasuted. she sighed and slowly, painfully got up, licking Canarykit on the head and picking him up, preparing to wait.

Midnightsun nodded.
"Of course." He raced back to camp, his heart hammering against his chest. Stonesearch's undying energy had exhausted him enough, now he was scrabbling all over the territory... He slipped through the tunnel into camp and raced to the Warrior's den.
"Bluefeather? Acaciaskies? You in here?" Midnightsun asked.

Acaciaskies blinked her sleepy eyes open.
"Yeah, yeah, But...Bluefeather is in the Medicine Den, of vcourse. What's going on?" Confused, she stumbled out of the den, but knowing they needed Bluefeather, she raced into the Medicine Den.
"Bluefeather....We need you to go on some urgent mission..?" The medicine cat looked up, eyes shining.
"What's going on?"

Midnightsun watched Acaciaskies and blinked as she took off without waiting for a reply. He padded after her and stopped just beside Bluefeahter's den. He popped his head in.
"Pacingwaters gave birth to some kits. She needs some help gettin' them back." He meowed.

Bluefeather and Acaciaskies nodded in unison. Acaciaskies gave Midnightsun a coy look. He doesn't look so bad.... she took off with the two cats to go get Pacingwaters kits. Going to the Burnt Sycamore, five healthy looking kits waited with their mom. "They are beautiful," Acaciaskies commented, eyeing them. Grabbing silverkit, she nodded for the others. Bluefeather grabbed Iriskit, and Addaxkit and Mistkit were left for the two males to grab. Canarykit was being held by Pacingwaters.

Midnightsun scooped up Addaxkit, leaving Mistkit for Stonesearch. With a nod the group set out. Midnightsun was startled by the kit's wieght. He wasn't large, just heavy. Midnightsun turned slightly to eye Stonesearch, who seemed to not really mind the weight of the kit.

Back at camp, Pacingwaters settled into the nursery quite well. The kits, exhausted from their travels in the mouths of the helpful warriors settled into the curve of her belly and fell fast asleep.
Acaciaskies eyed Midnightsun carefully. "Beautiful, eh? Makes me want some of my own...." She sighed and walked out of the nursery and stared at a darkening sky, hoping Midnightsun would follow. Wrapping her tail around her paws, she gave a hefty sigh.

Kinkfur rolled her eyes. More kits. Just what the Clan needed. It wasn't like she was angry though, no. Just missing Hauntedshadow. Where was he? She was half-tempted to leave and go find him, but had always stayed because of her brother. However, now that he was no longer in on their little ordeal she wasn't safe. Maybe when her kits were old enough, she could go with them to find her mate. She sighed, shaking her head in a jealous fit over Pacingwaters. But all in good time, no?

Midnightsun looked at the kits and then turned to Acaciaskies. He gave a slight nod at her words and followed her out of the den, leavping Pacingwaters to a greatly deserved rest. Only Stonesearch stayed behind. He turned to look at the pretty she-cat, who was sitting just outside the den. Acaciaskies... The daughter of the previous leader and deputy. She had a strong heritage. No tom would be fool enough to play with her heart, he was certain. She was deserving of someone far greater than he. Still, he had been taken with her for a long time now, and her beauty wasn't lost to his grey-blue eyes. Midnightsun was too shy, too quiet, though to express any desire to be more than friends. He smiled at her.
"It's a fine thing to have new kits, huh? Despite the evil of SilenceClan we are prospering and our future is bright over the hills and shadows that consume us now." He meowed with a nod. I've always been somewhat literate... He thought, frowning a little at his own elequent speech.
