Dragonstar bristled at the entrance of Shutterfly. "Coldfire!" he called. The spackled she-cat appeared beside her leader. "Yes, Dragonstar." she whispered in her deep and dark voice. "Hunt some fresh kill for the kits and make sure that they are cared for." The Trueclan leader stood up. "It is good to have you back, Shutterfly." he said, bowing his head slightly. "Well, I --" Cut off by the entrance of Sycamorepaw and the two tom's odd behavior, Dragonstar narrowed his eyes. He could feel the attention in the air, being very receptive to emotion, as well as the state of his clanmate's fur. "Is there something I should know, Sycamorepaw?" he called out to the young tom, "before these newcomers get an opportunity to join our clan?"
"Would anyone like to join me?" Coldfire rasped, turning around at the camp exit.

"I'll come, Coldfire." Snowshoe offered, looking at Shutterfly. He gave her a quick nuzzel and ran over to Coldfire.

Mistpaw eyed Sycamorepaw, then turned her gaze to Canyonpaw. She knew they had both done bad things. Perhaps Canyonpaw more than herself. But still, all they wanted was to make up for the mistakes they had made. She felt a terrible ache in her heart, and a fierce longing rose inside of her, the longing to protect something worth protecting, and the longing to find a place she belonged. Mistpaw didn't know if she could find it here, but she hoped with all her heart she could.
A white and ginger-streaked she-cat padded slowly out of the Medicine cat's den. Her pale blue eyes examined the scene, listening as Dragonstar murmured to Coldfire something about hunting and getting someone settled in. The she-cat's eyes turned to the Queen, and her ears pricked. Shutterfly? She thought, startled. She stepped forward as Coldfire inquired as to anyone willing to help.
"I'll help." Flamestreak meowed. Even though she was just regaining her strength back, Flamestreak wanted to do something to help Shutterfly. After all, she probably would have starved if the Queen had not come along.

"Very well" Coldfire replied in thanks to the cats offering to help in her scratchy voice. (continued in the golden fields)
Dragonstar flicked his tail, waiting for a reply.

Sycamorepaw froze, startled as the leader spoke. He hurried over to where they were, watching as his brother seemed to feel the same shock. His tail and ears drooped, he knew what was coming. As if he has forgotten who I really am. Sycamorepaw opened his mouth, forming words. 'No, I thought I recognized him but I do not know him. I mistook him for another cat.'
-
Canyonpaw was terrified at the words. Well, mouthed words. Now, of course, it meant he had a better chance of acceptance. But it also meant that his brother, his own brother, had dismissed him. He had acted honestly, he hadn't seemed as if he were lying. It was as if... As if he has forgotten me. Hates me to the point of forgetting who I may really be. Maybe, I do not deserve to be his brother anymore anyway. Canyonpaw did not perk up his ears or tail, as if he hadn't meant to do so for curse of his brother's wrath. Though, Canyonpaw knew, this was a worse punishment. He was no longer family now. He was just another cat to his brother. A nobody.

Mistpaw's eyes filled with sorrow at the words Sycamorepaw formed with his mouth. Poor Canyonpaw... She thought. She hardly remembered her own sister... it had been so long. She gently touched her friend's shoulder with the tip of her tail, trying to omfort him somehow.
Flamestreak padded after Coldfire, her pale blue eyes set on the path before her.

Dragonstar narrowed his eyes further, feeling as though there was more to the situation than he was being told. "Very well." he meowed, turning his attention towards Sycamorepaw. "One day, Sycamorepaw, you shall become a Guardian of Trueclan. On this day, you will have to forgive your grievances against any cat, no matter who they may be." The leader said in a comforting, yet oddly knowing tone. He, himself, had a mother in Silenceclan....

Mistpaw's hackles raised as she waited for Dragonstar to tell them whether or not they were welcome in TrueClan. She was getting impaitent of all the stallings and interuptions. After so many moons, she finally thought she knew what her destiny was, but that all depended on his response. Either way, I will fight SilenceClan... and all evil, until my dying breath. She thought.

Dragonstar turned back to the newcomers again. "Trueclan welcomes you with open paws. For now, you can stay with the other apprentices. We have plenty of room for you. I will be assigning you mentors tomorrow."
(Is anyone in particular looking for an apprentice, and does anyone need to have any status changes? I'll be holding a meeting very soon.)

OOC: Well, Mistpaw's a bit old to be stuck in the apprentice den for too much longer, but that's fine. Flamestreak isn't offically part of the Clan, and... well, that's about it I guess.
BIC: Mistpaw's heartbeat almost stopped at the words he spoke, and she felt an icy thrill rush up her spine. This is my home now. My Clan. She thought, looking around her with sparkling blue eyes. She turned back to Dragonstar and dipped her head.
"Thank you." She meowed breathlessly. Tempeststorm, who had sat silent all this time, flicked her ear and stood.
"I'll take you to the Apprentice's den." She meowed, flicking her thick tail. Mistpaw nodded, then turned to look at Canyonpaw, her gaze filled with joy.

((You and I agreed, Magic, that Coldfire would be Canyonpaw's mentor. ( : ))
Canyonpaw almost fell to the earth in relief. He wanted to yowl praise to the sky, and he met Mistpaw's gaze with an equally happy and ecstatic one. He followed eagerly to the apprentice's den. This would be so much better, with cats who would respect you for who you were, not who you could kill.

Dragonstar's gaze locked onto Tempeststorm, his heart full of pain and yearning. He sighed, trying to release the torrent within him. It was against his own code of conduct to feel remorse, but he just wished he could have more time with the cat he loved....
(Any long-time warriors ready to be made Guardians?)

Tempeststorm hesitated for a moment as Dragonstar looked at her. But, lowering her head, she continued to move forward until she stopped by the Apprentice's den.
"Here you are." She meowed to the two new apprentics. She turned and looked at Dragonstar again, sighing softly. I wonder if I should tell him... She thought, staring blankly at the Nursery where Emi had just emerged.

Canyonpaw nodded to the she-cat and slipped into the cozy den. He could smell out his brother's den, and chose an empty spot opposite it. Now he was just curious about the camp. He slipped out once he had chosen where he would sleep, looking around. A familiar scent wreathed him as he watched Sycamorepaw leave the Medicine Den. Confusion filled him as he padded over, peering through to see Nightpaw and another tom. He would talk to her later, he thought, as joy replaced his sadness. She was still alive! He then slipped back to the apprentice's den, contempt, and lay down in his bare spot. He felt like he could sleep a moon off now, and began to nap away the day.

Mistpaw padded into the den, noticing the place Canyonpaw had chosen to sleep. She ignored the looks some of the apprentices gave her. They don't trust me. But what else would I expect? I have to earn their trust. She told herself firmly. She laaid down beside Canyonpaw and closed her eyes, sighing softly. Even the atmosphere of the den was so much cleaner, it seemed, than the den she slept in while living in SilenceClan. And now I'm an apprentice of TrueClan... the sun seems brighter, even this early on. She thought, smiling as she drifted off to sleep.
Saviorpaw's ears twitched as he listened to Dragonstar. He had keen senses, and it didn't take much to hear his leader from across the camp. He turned to Nightpaw, his gaze intent.
"It seems the two SilenceClanners were accepted into the Clan." He meowed thoughtfully.

Dragonstar tried to swallow the lump in his throat as he stared at Tempeststorm. They had been together for some time now, but she still took his breath away whenever he looked at her. He loved her so much it hurt. He jogged over to her and nuzzled the side of her face. "Have time for a walk?" he asked.

Tempeststorm turned her dark blue gaze to the cat she loved with every inch of her being. She had never imagined the pain that came with this love, pain at not seeing Dragonstar because of her duty and his. Pain at having to live with the responsibility of being the leader's mate. But either way, the tender moments and even just the times he caught her eye, made it all worth it.
"Sure." She meowed, trying not to sound too incredibly eager. Her eyes shone brightly as she imagined spending time with Dragonstar. She knew she was probably being silly, but she didn't really care.

Dragonstar smiled. He turned to the cats in the clearing. "Softheart, Authentic...can you keep an eye on things around here for a little while?" he asked. He could hardly keep the luminosity out of his eyes from his glowing heart as he thought about spending time with Tempeststorm. "You lead the way." he said softly.

Tempeststorm did so, padding out of the camp into the glorious sunshine. Everything seemed brighter with Dragonstar nearby, and all Tempeststorm's doubts about the news she had to pass onto her mate seemed to fade away like dew. She turned and smiled at Dragonstar, then slowed so that they could walk side-by-side together.

Coldfire and the patrol returned to camp. She padded over to the nursery and set down the plump squirrel she had caught. "For the kits" she meowed. She bowed her head and quickly backed away, not sure of what to preoccupy herself with next.
