He never meant to find his way home. Not so much home, as where he had been raised. His Clan was his home. ThunderClan was home. But he had needed to take a walk, and walk he did. All the way to twolegplace.
Firestar did not realize that he had reached his old home until, well, he had. He balanced precariously for a moment, before steadying himself. He realized where he was as he saw his familiar twolegs. They didn't seem to notice him one bit. As a matter of fact...
Firestar peered through the hole in the nest, and saw another cat. Eating from his food bowl. He was alarmed. The kit reminded him of his family, especially his sister, Princess. How he missed his family. Another cat appeared - this one was bright gold with vivid blue eyes. He sighed.
Then he scented something. It was unfamiliar, but scented like a kittypet and twolegs. Firestar hissed and fluffed up in alarm.
"Rusty?" A familiar voice spoke.
"Princess?"
"It is you! Oh Rusty!" Princess walked across the fence and sat down in front of her brother. "You look different. And smell different too. And where's your collar?" Firestar shook his head.
"Not Rusty anymore. Firestar now. I live with the wild cats." Princess nodded.
"That makes sense. That's why they adopted Kayli." Princess smiled.
"Kayli?" Firestar asked. That's when Princess began to tell him everything that had happened after he had vanished.
-
"So, where did you get these kits?" Firestar asked, staring at the tree hidden bundles of fur. Princess had been raising them in secret, since she happened to have just stopped nursing her kits when these kits had been given to her. She knew her twolegs would take them if they found out, so she hid them in her garden under some thick shrubs. Her twolegs were too busy to often use the backyard, so it was the perfect place.
"A tom brought them to me. He brought me one kit a moon earlier, who I think was born prematurely." She said with a smile. "I nursed him, and he was adopted with Kayli. His name is Kyle." Firestar nodded. He looked closer at the kits, and then caught their scent. He gasped. They smelled like...
"What did this tom look like?"
"Who?" Princess asked, confused.
"The tom who brought the kits." Firestar asked impatiently.
"Oh. He was a big, burly tabby tom. With fiery orange eyes." Princess added. Firestar nodded. He put two and two together, and began to understand what had happened to Bluestar.
"What are the kits names?" He was curious.
"This orange tomkit, the firstborn, is the oldest. His name is Longan." She pointed with her tail at a little kit. He was a vibrant orange, much like Firestar himself. His paws, however, were all socked white. "This second-born, a she-kit, is Lychee." She pointed to a grey she-kit. She had darker stripes, five, running along her back and tail, draped like pieces of cloth.
"The third-born she-kit is Rambutan." Princess pointed to a brilliant white she-kit. Her ears, muzzle and paws, as well as tail-tip, were faintly burned brown. Firestar nodded.
"They're named after exotic fruit." Princess meowed proudly, happily.
"I have to go." Firestar meowed unhappily.
"Oh, why?"Princess asked, despaired.
"I need to return to my Clan." Firestar also seemed sad. Princess nodded, remembering he was leader.
"Visit again?"
"Of course! I'd love to see the kits again, too."
"Okay!" Princess meowed happily, and watched as her brother leaped her garden fence and vanished. She stroked him gently, hurrying inside. Her twolegs were calling.
