Featherkit squeaked with happiness. "Did you hear that, Taintedkit? We're going to be made apprentices..." She purred, then glanced at Badgerkit, she flicked her tail.

"Yeah!" Taintedkit said with a smile. Badgerkit shook his head in jealousy. Taintedkit began to bounce around the den, happy to finally get out of it.

"I think I want to be a Medicine Cat..." Featherkit meowed to her brother. "Do you think that would be good."
(Can we just say their apprentices because I don't think Magicstar is active I never see her post anything...)

"No, that wouldn't be a good idea." Taintedkit meowed. "I don't wanna be alone. Besides, you'd suck with herbs. You'd mess them up." He hoped his sister wasn't serious - it wouldn't make him happy at all.
"No." Badgerkit copied Taintedkit, not even sure what he was saying.

Badgerkit shrugged.
"No, you won't be with me! While I'm out training, you'll be stuck in a smelly den looking at leaves. When I fight, you go around sticking cobwebs on cats. Where's the fun in that? A kit could do it no problem! We won't ever see each other again! We wont even share a den!" Taintedkit growled. "But go ahead, do whatever you like. Not like I have any importance in the matter." He turned his back on his sister, and as he did so Shadowkit smiled.

The pale grey she-cat just glared at Taintedkit with her light blue eyes, then she looked at Shadowkit then Badgerkit. "Taintedkit...if it really bothers you that much, then I won't ask to be medicine cat apprentice." She meowed in a gentle voice then walked quietly out of the nursery. She padded over to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a mouse for herself to eat. She ate it alone by herself.

Mountainfur padded up to his daughter.
"Everything is arranged with Boulderclaw. I heard that you want to be a Medicine Cat?" He said with a purr of affection. "My mother wanted the same position. Did you know that?"

Featherkit looked up from her mouse at her father. "I did until I heard Taintedkit was unhappy with me. I don't want to hurt him. He's my older brother. He means a lot to me and I was to please him..."

"Something similar happened to Appletail. Her sister, Goldenfur, wanted her same position. As kits, the two tried to show off to the current Medicine Cat, Shadowdusk, quite a lot. Applekit and Goldenkit were sent on errands, but Goldenkit was lazy. Her sister, wanting to fetch the herbs and help her Clan, got both hers and her sister's things. So Goldenpaw was chosen, but did not know a thing about being a Medicine Cat. Appletail had to train her apprentice, as well as her sister's. She was an amazing cat..." He nodded. "So you see, do what you want. Your brother does not matter, as he only wants what's best for you. But you know better than he." Mountainfur winked at his daughter.

Hollyleaf purred nuzzling Taintedkit. "I know you want what's best for her, but she has to pick her destiny alone, the best thing for you to do is support her." Hollyleaf whispered. "Maybe you should go talk to her, I think it will make you both feel better."

"No." Taintedkit said plainly, curling up with his tail-tip on his nose. "Let her choose what she wants, but she'll never get my support. Whether she's a warrior or a Medicine Cat, I don't care... as long as she's happy, I guess, but she never gets my support." With that, the tom fell asleep.

Hollyleaf sighed getting up, most of the kits were asleep besides Shadowkit and Featherkit. Hollyleaf walked out the nursery for the first time in moons. She took in a deep breath of fresh air. She padded over to Mountainfur and Featherkit. Featherkit looked at her then padded into the nursery and went to sleep. Hollyleaf looked up at Mountainfur. "Taintedkit said he doesn't support Featherkit's decision on being a warrior or Medicine cat. I wonder what he wants her to do. She only has those to opinions."

"Not really. She could be a rouge, a kittypet, a loner, or belong to another Clan." Mountainfur said with a sigh. "He's just gonna miss her. But she needs to do what she wants. If she tries to make Taintedkit happy, she'll just become a used kitten." He shook his head with a sigh. Kits were so confusing.
