Flyingpaw padded up onto the hard bridge. It wasn't like the grass or the smooth stones the river had in them. She ignored that fact though. She moved over to the edge, laying down on it. Her green eyes watched the water flow under her. The slightest relfection was casted by the water, making the she-cat frown. "I'm now a Warrior's apprentice, but I don't feel any different... It's suppose to be good feeling after having your apprentice ceremony isn't it?" The white cat murmured quietly to herself. She sighed, laying her paws over her face. She knew what was bugging her, but couldn't do anything about it. After she thought about it though, she didn't know if she wanted to do anything about it either.

The tortoiseshell-patched tom padded calmly along with his ears pricked. He had snuck out of camp, tired of having to take care of the Elders. He knew Dragonclaw would probably tan his hide when he got back, but he didn't really care. He caught a familiar scent and turned to see Flyingpaw on the Twoleg Bridge. He noticed she seemed sad, so he decided it would be best to be the listener for once. Or the quiet companion that said nothing and merely was there. Otterpaw padded up to his friend and sat next to her, saying nothing but staring down at their reflections. Finally he turned to her and fixed her with his fierce blue gaze.
"What's wrong, Flyingpaw? Won't you tell me?" He asked. She had been acting so strangely lately. He wished he could read her thoughts, just know what she was feeling. But oh well, he would just have to see what she would tell him herself.

Flyingpaw sighed and removed her snowy white paws from her night black face. She looked up at Otterpaw, softly nuzzling her head against his leg. "I'm sorry, Otterpaw... I just don't know what to do really... Remember how I said I rather be helping the clan instead of fighting?" She murmured, looking up at the tortishell tom. Her green eyes had brightened a bit with him just being there with her.

Otterpaw looked down at Flyingpaw, startled by her action but not showing any of it on his face. His eyes softened and he smiled slightly, flicking his long tail with its strange thick fur.
"Yeah, I do." He meowed, looking into Flyingpaw's eyes and just waiting, watching, listening.

"I wanted to be the Medcine Cat's apprentice, but it was already taken, and the warrior apprentice doesn't bother me either... I just don't see why I don't feel like I'm in the right place. I want to help, either fighting or helping with herbs, but... I don't think I belong..." She whispered quietly. Slowly, she lifted up, sitting up right beside the tom. "It just doesn't feel right in camp. Just like the warriors or anyone really doesn't exactly accept me. I know I'm smallest one out of us apprentices and I probably have the worst personallity for a Riverclanner, but I don't know why it's unfitting. Just feels like it I guess..." The small she-cat trailed off, looking down at her paws. She shuffled them uneasily.

Otterpaw was silent for a few moments. Then he gently brushed her shoulder with his tail, his blue gaze flickering.
"Flyingpaw, believe it or not, I have the same problem sometimes." He meowed, staring down into the water with a dark look on his face.
"My father and his sister are pure blooded ShadowClanners, even though they were raised here in RiverClan. I don't have the complete natural build of a RiverClanner, I can't do anything like you or the other apprentices can. I even feel some cats in the Clan don't like be because of my father. But I try not to let it get to me. No matter how useless I feel, I just know I can't give up. I have to keep trying. It's hard, yeah, but so is everything in the life of a Warrior. It's a struggle, but we're goanna get through it. Both of us, together. I promise." He meowed, turning and fixing Flyingpaw with his determined blue eyes.

"I don't think I'm pure blood Riverclanner... I think I'm built like a Windclanner..." Flyingpaw muttered to herself. Her green eyes looked up at Otterpaw's blue eyes. She nodded, looking at him still. "Okay, I believe you." She mewed, halfly smiling up at him. I think I really do like him... She thought, trailing off.

Otterpaw smiled widely.
"Ok, now whadda ya say we have a race?" He meowed friskily, lashing his tail and crouching slightly, bouncing back and forth as he looked at Flyingpaw.
"If you're built like a WindClanner you'll claw my tail anyway!" He exclaimed.

Flyingpaw laughed when he challenged her to a race. "Tell me where your going and I'll beat you there big guy." She purred playfully. She watched him and batted at his ear with her fore paw softly. Her eyes bright and dazzling their normal green now. "There's no way your beating me." She purred, smiling at Otterpaw.

Otterpaw smiled.
"Alright. First one to the Waterfall wins!" He exclaimed, crouching and lashing his tail eagerly.

Flyingpaw smirked. "All right first one to the Waterfall." She agreed, getting even with him. Her eyes were bright with the thought of a challenge. "You say when." She meowed.

Otterpaw crouched farther down.
"OK... ready... set... GO!!" He sprinted forward, leaping off the Twoleg bridge and running alongside the river, his tortoiseshell-patched pelt streaking with silver in the breeze. He saw Sunningrocks up ahead, and suddenly noticed a grey she-cat standing at the Riverside. He pulled to a stop, his eyes wide.
"Who are you?" He asked, startled. He had forgotten about the race in his surprise, but it seemed that the she-cat was a ThunderClanner on the RiverClan side of the river.
"I'm Ashfire. I'm from ThunderClan. I need to ask you something." She meowed darkly.

Flyingpaw was off right at Otterpaw's side, but had slowed down thinking she saw something. She slid to a stop, almost running into Otterpaw. Her eyes were a bit frightened, but that metled off when she said she needed to ask something. She stood up, stepping forward. "What's so important you need to intrude onto Riverclan's territory?" She almost hissed. Flyingpaw looked at the warrior, glaring slightly. She knew she was probably no threat to the Thunderclanner, but she wasn't going to let that stop her.

Ashfire turned and fixed the dark blur that appeared beside the other with her fierce amber gaze.
"I need to know if you've seen a black cat with a white chest and paws. That's it." She meowed, flicking her ear dismissively. She saw the tortosieshell-patched tom's eyes widen.
"You came onto RiverClan territory just to ask us that? What's so important about this cat?" Ashfire was silent for a few moments.
"He's my brother." She replied simply. "Have you seen him?" The apprentice looked down at his paws.
"No, I haven't. You should check WindClan, if you're that interested in finding him... though it's probably not a good idea to run around other Clan's territories." He meowed. Ashfire smirked.
"Yeah. Well, I'd think so normally, too. Thanks, anyways. I'll see you..." She turned and leaped onto the stepping stones beside her. She looked over her shoulder and saw the apprentice staring after her.
Otterpaw turned to Flyingpaw, his blue eyes wide.
"That was really wierd." He meowed.

Flyingpaw watched Ashfire shaking her head as the she-cat walked of. She looked at her paws. "Very and I'm really glad to be a she-cat." She laughed a bit. Her green eyes looked up at Otterpaw. "Black cat with white chest and paws though. Who could that be?" She asked.

Otterpaw shrugged and shook his head.
"I dunno. It's not like I've been out of the camp for longer than, like, three days." He meowed.
