Cookie layed down her gaze fixed on the rock. She watched as it sparkled but her eyes were tired. Her eyes kept closing so she decided to leave them closed. She slowly drifted to sleep.

Sighingwind did not dream again that night, but he still could feel his mother's spirit somewhere close, and hear the voices in his ear whispering to him. When he awoke, he could see light filtering through the ceiling of the cave. He turned and looked at Cookie, feeling a spark of gratituide that the she-cat was there with him. He wondered what sort of feeling lingered in his heart besides this, for he could feel a warmth he had never felt before, or had forgotten in this long time. Getting to his paws, Sighingwind stretched luxuriously then sat down and looked through the gap in the cavern roof, at the clouds.

Cookie blinked her eyes open. She was greeted by sunlight and a rumbling stomach. She looked over to Sighingwind. "Good morning" she mewed as she went over and gave him a lick on the cheek.

Sighingwind felt a tingle run up his spine as she liked his cheek. He flicked his ear and smiled at her.
"Good mornin' to you, too. Have a nice sleep?" He inquired.

Sighingwind smiled.
"Good, thanks. Well, shall we get some breakfast before setting out?" He asked, though it may have been more of a retorical question.

Sighingwind did so, his black and white pelt rippling in the sunlight. He angled his ears forward and parted his jaws to scent the air. Detecting the scent of mouse, he stalked off into the undergrowth, emerging a few minutes later with a mouse in his jaws.

Cookie opened her mouth, the scent of squirrel hit her. She stalked off like Sighing wind taught her and leapt. She manage to catch the squirrel, barely. She padded back into the clearing. She settled down amongst the grass. She took a few bites of her squirrel. "Want some?" she offered Sighingwind.

Sighingwind bit into the warm flesh of his mouse, satisfied that Cookie was becoming a fine hunter, and didn't need his help now. He looked up at her words and almost felt stung.
"No thanks." He murmured. He knew she was only being polite, but he had his own meal, that he caught. He didn't need to share hers. But Sighingwind knew he was just being touchy, so he decided to drop it.

Cookie nodded. She continued eating her squirrel. "What do you want to do today?" she asked. She took another mouthful of squirrel.

Sighingwind hesitated. They had been planning to visit the ThunderClanners, but now that he knew the truth... he didn't really want to. He tried to think of something else they could do.
"Well, uh, I know some cool places around here..." He meowed.

She finished her squirrel and buried the bones. "Lets get going" she meowed. She had forgot all of their Thunderclan plans.

Sighingwind nodded, padding along with his mind off in some other world and his gaze on the path ahead. He almost fell into a rabbit hole, and found himself cursing under his breath at his own clumsiness. He shook his head, looking up into the sky and wondering if his mother was truly up there, watching him.

Cookie swirved to avoid the rabbit hole. She noticed Sighingwind's mind was somewhere else. "Are you alright?" she asked.

Sighingwind nodded, not really paying much attention. He looked up into the sky and noted the position of the sun before padding up to a little streamlet near a golden field. He sniffed the air, curious at the new scents that had come over the place since he had been there. Have one of the Clans moved this far out? He wondered silently.
