Falcon very quietly crept out of his den before he had a chance to wake up Foalan. He knew his mentor was bound to ask questions if she saw him creeping out. Though all he really wanted to do was see if he could get the mouse bile himself this time. Falcon knew they needed to restock on just about everything but poppy seeds and thyme leaves. Maybe later, Foalan would let him get some burdock root by himself. However, at this early in the morning, he wasn't even going to bother leaving camp.
As soon as he got to the fresh kill pile, he saw a few mice in the pile. Though he knew he would get scolded if he messed the mouse up enough that it wasn't fit to eat. Every morsel of prey was still needed, even if it was New-leaf. Now having doubts about causing the Clan to have one less mouse, Falcon took the smallest one. He hoped that if his mentor came out, she wouldn't get angry because he would just say that he was getting it for her, instead of trying to get the mouse bile himself. Falcon started limping back to the medicine cat den when he heard a meow that made him jump.

"What are you doing?" An odd pelted Silenceclan apprentice Demanded from across the clearing. Stepping out of the shadows, she had seen everything. The medicine apprentice had snuck out of his den and fetched a mouse. Tropicana wondered what it was for. Every single morsel of prey was needed. She had even cut back on prey, the glutton she was. It was hard. But it was mandatory.
Blinking at the apprentice, she looked down at her strange pelt. It was patched with a dark, dark black, on an orange canvas. She looked something like a pumpkin. Her amber eyes glowed with youth. She was a pretty cat, beautiful, really, tohught she always thought her pelt was an eye sore. She stepped back into the shadows, trying to conceal herself, though her eyes could be seen through the darkness.

Foalan had been busying herself in her den again, checking and double-checking her kits. Second litter and she wasn't about to let Chaos or anyone get to them this time. She heard a rustle as someone exited the den, and she figured that it was her apprentice Falcon. He was certainly up early, but so was Faolan. Ever since having her kits she'd been awake nonstop with their constant whining. Annoying little things, but she loved them too much.
Finally giving in as her kits finally fell asleep, she stood and stretched. Foalan padded out into the clearing where she saw Falcon take a mouse and begin heading back toward her. She figured he was restocking the Mouse Bile, after all - her trainee had hardly eaten in a long while. That and he was a loyal tom, he would think about the Clan and the medicines before himself. When Tropicana stepped out to question him, Foalan spoke up. "He's merely fetching Mouse Bile like I asked. We're fresh out, dear. Don't be mad at him, I asked him." Foalan said with a smile, gesturing for her apprentice to come back to the den so that they could start on the Bile.

The pale brown tom dipped his head to Tropicana and then to his mentor, though in his head he was silently cursing himself. Foalan hadn't told him at all to get mouse bile. Though he was pretty sure that Foalan wouldn't yell at him now. Falcon narrowed his eyes slightly and wondered why he had even thought that she would; Falcon looked up to her and his mentor hardly ever had his sharp tongue directed at her. Though if Falcon hadn't had his mouse in his mouth, Tropicana would have certainly heard what he had to say. Falcon didn't feel like argueing though, so he just continued his limping walk back to the medicine cat's den.
He heard Foalan's kit's mewling and got kinda annoyed so he changed direction before he even managed to get into the den. He quickly settled down and was about to start trying to get the mouse bile out when he suddenly realized that he really didn't know what he was doing. Foalan always went through things with him in a step by step manner so that he would get it and keep it in his memory. Getting mouse bile must have been one of things Foalan must have taught him when they were still trying to find ways for him to keep what he was learning in his head. So Falcon figured that he had learned but probably not the right way. Falcon turned his head to try and see his mentor and ask how to get the mouse bile; he spotted Tropicana, who seemed very interested in what he was doing and then he spotted Foalan in the same place she was when he walked away.

Foalan watched Falcon and sighed, shaking her head as he sat himself down and attempted to figure out how to work. Getting mouse bile wasn't the easiest thing to do, and she figured he'd need another lesson. That is, if he would hurry up and get back into the den for a scolding. She wasn't one to publicly humiliate other cats, but he'd hear enough from her after she had covered his rear. So she sat dow, an amused expression on her face as he sat and attempted to remember how to fetch the mouse bile.
Foalan sighed and shook her head, padding over to her apprentice and smiling. "Let's get back to the den, and I'll show you how to do it." She said in a tone that was a frightening honey-and-cream, almost murderous in its strange tone. It lacked the sweetness that it seemed to house, which made it that much stranger and that much more frightening. A soft breeze blew on Foalan as she turned and headed back into her den. She would wait for Falcon, and tend to her kits. If he didn't come it was his own sorry fault. But eventually she'd find a way to get through to him.

Falcon watched his mentor come over to him, at first he was glad that she did but then she saw the amused expression on her face and got even more annoyed. His ears flicked but that was all he was going to betray as his mentor told him to go back to the den. He got up and picked up the mouse. When he turned back, he saw that Foalan was already going back. Before going into the den though, he turned his head back and tried to make out Tropicana, even though he was more than annoyed at her earlier tone; he didn't hold grudges. Falcon hoped she would allow him to talk to her again, now that she knew his position in the Clan and that he wasn't just some regular apprentice. In fact, he was almost done with his training but then again, Falcon was having doubts about that too. What kind of a medicine cat apprentice didn't know how to get mouse bile? Once inside the den, Falcon put the mouse down and finally said, "I guess I forgot how to get the mouse bile out. I was going to try it myself but I know that we can't be wasting food." He paused and looked into Foalan's eyes and meowed, "Thanks for covering for me back there. I was thinking maybe I could go get some burdock root after we get the mouse bile. I noticed that we're low on supplies." Once he stopped talking, he gave one of his paws a quick lick.
