Salinka? Chasinglight almost said. And she did say, after some thought. "Salinka,?" She asked, puzzled.

Weepingkit looked up at Chasinglight, confused.
"What does that mean?" She asked. So her father wasn't the only one who knew that word? Weepingkit had thought so, but now apparently she had been wrong.

"I'm not sure. You said it. Maybe Stormstar knows..." She was puzzled by how much this kit knew about, and how much more she had to learn.

Weepingkit blinked. She had said it? Oh yes. She remembered now.
"Father said to me much. Mother did not like it when he did. I do not think it has a nice meaning." Weepingkit sighed.

"Ah." Chasinglight said, still confused. Weepingkit knew many words Chasinglight didn't know of...

"Father say one thing. Say... say something hard to repeat. Don't 'member." Weepingkit sighed. There were many things she did not remember. Her name, for one. But there had to be something... She remembered one name. She frowned.
"Knew Clan cat. Cat called Wolfhowl RiverClan. Knew Salinka." Weepingkit mewed thoughtfully.

Ghostpaw frowned, curious. She sensed a motherly heir about Chasinglight, and felt angered again. Weepingkit had no right to think of Chasinglight as a mother in any way, no Chasinglight think of Weepingkit as a daughter! Ghostpaw leaned in close to Chasinglight so that Weepingkit could not hear her. "You are not her mother, and don't go thinking you are." She hissed unhappily. How come her life was the one she had hated and dreaded from the start? Ghostpaw shook her head. Chasinglight was lying. Rootclaw was her father, Lichenpaw her sister. She couldn't be what she feared. It was impossible. "And why do you lie to me?" Ghostpaw asked, broken.

"Ghostpaw, I'm not a liar. I will never lie again. It happened. Ask anyone from TrueClan or SilenceClan." She sighed. She was a mother to Weepingkit! Rootclaw was a false father to Ghostpaw. she had no right to speak to her about that. Ignoring the apprentice, she turned to Weepingkit again. "wolhowl? I don't really know her. I don't remember her as a kit, and she seems about my age, maybe even younger...
(Are you really that upset about Weepingkit/Chasinglight, B-Claw? You keep bringing it up.)

"Liar! Murderer! Stormstar is the fool who let you traitor into our Clan. You are a pthetic excuse for a mother and a friend. Weepingkit, as long as you love or even care about Chasinglight I will not visit you. At least not when this wretched monster is around!" Ghostpaw hissed furiously. She stood, standing near the den entrance signaling her signs of leave. She could scarcely put up with the fact that Chasinglight kept telling falsehoods. She had a father and a sister, and a mother who was dead. Nothing would change that, even a lying excuse for a kittypet. Lichenpaw slipped by her sister, nodding. Ghostpaw rolled her eyes and slipped out of the den wordlessly. "Heard about the new kit." Lichenpaw meowed in a friendly tone, petting Weepingkit and then ignoring her like any ignorant apprentice would. "But I came to talk about more important matters, mother." Lichenpaw said the word with venom in her voice.

Chasinglight watched Ghostpaw leave, her heart wretched. Her world was pretty much collpasing. It started to catch on fire when Lichenpaw walked in. She sighed when Lichenpaw hissed the word 'mother' at her. Putting her head on her paws, she flicked her tail miserably in greeting. "If you are here to insult, my world has already burned to the ground." She murmured.

"No, I am here to question. You and I both know the truth, I just want the why involved." Lichenpaw spat icily, wishing her mother would be serious. No, not her mother. Lichenpaw had completely disowned Chasinglight. She just wanted to know why Chasinglight had disowned her, too. It hurt.

Chasinglight picked her head up"Ask me anything," She said, intersted. She knew RootClaw and her had a little plan to get her away from them, so she had to be careful. She had to answer the questions sweetly no snapping or getting angry. This would be hard.

"Why did you leave me but keep my brother? Was I just too much? Was I second? Don't give me crap, I want the truth. No heart-warming stories of love and unhappiness. Don't tell me I looked like someone you knew, because so does Shadowpaw." Lichenpaw said darkly, sitting down and calmly washing her paw as she waited for a response. Calm, cool, collected, and yet fierce and rough. Perfect way to interrogate.

That ruined Chasinglights whole story. "I was afraid, okay? I knew I'd fail you miserably. I'm failing Weepungkit and I failed Pacingwaters! You'd hate me anyway." She turned away from her daughter, pain and sorrow and love shadowing her eyes. "I kept Shadowpaw because I knew he would be like his dear dead dad, and he is. He gave me something to remember about when I was happy. I'm not happy anymore. I'm ruined."

"And I didn't? Your dearest daughter didn't make you happy? So you left me because you didn't love me, eh? I knew you were shallow, but not that shallow. I love Rootclaw because he loves me too, okay? Maybe it was a smart move on your part, because you'd never have given me the love and attention I needed." Lichenpaw turned to go. Suddenly, the hate and darkness in her eyes flickered away for a moment. In that brief moment, she felt loved and wanted. She felt horrible and sorry. Turning, she bolted over to her mother and buried her muzzle into her chest fur. "I love you so much!" She cried sadly.

Chasinglight was very confused. She wanted to feel like this was real, but something was off. It was wrong. Lichenpaw hated her and it was true that she would probably never like her mother again. Chasinglight felt uncomfortable. She didn't know what to say. "I-I have always loved you, Lichenpaw. I didn't want you to turn out like the failure I am."

Lichenpaw pulled back, straightening up and coughing. "Lost my cool there. That's all." Lichenpaw turned and padded out of the Nursery quickly. Nice interrogation. You really lost your cool there. Lichenpaw hated expressing love because of her mother, but had lost it and had shown her true feelings in front of Chasinglight. She had probably ruined everything.

Chasinglight watched her daughter leave, positive she had meant what she said. Was Rootclaw deliberately trying to poison these apprentices with hate?

OOC: Well considering Weepingkit's mom is dead I don't see the harm x.x Oh and... Wolfhowl is a tom... O.o
Weepingkit understood only a little of what Ghostpaw and Chasinglight were talking about, but their tones saddened her. She remained somewhat quiet as Ghostpaw left and another cat that Weepingkit didn't know came in. She was startled by the scene and remembered something... "Don't you walk away from me!" The she-cat roared furiously. The ginger kit turned and glared. "I not fool! I prove! I find fadder, he love me more than you!" She spat. The she-cat took another step towards the kit, pulling her lips back. "I am your mother, stupid kit! You will obey me!" She shrieked. A little black shape followed by a smaller tortoiseshell one bounded from behind the mother and stood in front of the ginger kit. "Don't hurt her, mama, please! She means no harm, really!" The tortoiseshell she-kit mewed pleadingly. The black tom's eyes burned. "We won't let you kill sister." He hissed. The kit's eyes were huge and filled with a mixture of awe and fear. "You impudent kits! Get out of my sight!" The cat roared, kicking a stone at them. It flew forward and struck the tortoiseshell she-cat on the side of the head. She fell in a crumpled heap. "Lala!" The ginger kit cried. The black tom kit's eyes widened and he stooped to nudge the she-kit, but Lala looked up at him, her eyes bleary. "You... you must... you must take her from this place, Warrior. You must protect her.... from... them..." And the kit's eyes closed. She gave one feebly cough and then lay still. Without thinking Warrior pushed the ginger kit away. "Let's go!" He cried. The kit's eyes were round with horror. "But we can't leave Lala!" She said. "Lala's dead! Don't you understand!? She gave her life for you, don't waste that sacrifice!" He roared. The kit followed him over the hill, numb to the furious yowls of the she-cat behind her. "I'll find you one day, you little demon!" The cat she had called mother roared. Warrior pushed her over the hill and she stumbled along with no expression on her face. "Mother hates me..." she breathed. Tears filled her eyes. Warrior turned to her, his expression dark. "Mother hates everything and everyone. All we have now is each other... and the memory of our sister." In the present, Weepingkit's eyes filled with tears. She remembered now. She remembered everything. That apprentice's outburst and the look of pain had triggered that horrible memory. Weepingkit collasped to the ground, her face completely void of emotion besides the tears.
"Salinka..." She breathed.
