A fat black and white cat sat on his fence, staring at the huge mansion next door. Lucky cats, He thought, sighing. He wondered where his little friend Lark was, the new kitten. Suddenly, a brown shape leaped up onto the fence, scaring Smudge. He fell off the fence and flattened his ears. "Lark!" He said, Leaping up onto the fence again. "Sorr-yy" Lark said cheerily. she looked into the bushes. "look! Someones coming!"

[[Kayli should know Smudge, but Kyle doesn't know anyone. ANd Lark doesn't know either of the two...]]
Kayli walked carefully along the fence, watching his every step. She was probably just over-protective of him, but she really didn't want him to hurt himself. It was one thing to be small, but he was ridiculous. He was already six months and only the size of a newborn kit. At least he was alive, though. Kyle wasn't the kind of cat to be messing with, however. He had a big personality to make up for his small size. Kayli smiled, thinking about Kyle often made her smile. The two were unrelated, but they were both owned by the same twolegs. And surprisingly, neither had been to the cutters yet. It made Kayli suspicious.
Kyle padded proudly up front, taking careful steps. His paws were still small and dainty enough to fit perfectly on the fence without any trouble, but Kayli still insisted he be watched carefully by her. As he walked along, he heard two kittypets up ahead. Looking back at Kayli, she nodded - apparently she had heard them well before his undeveloped ears had. He sighed, wishing he were not defected. If he could be like her, maybe other cats would accept him. He turned to face forward and kept walking. He spotted the cats well before they spotted him, but still Kayli had seen them first. They were both focussed on a bush which rattled. A small bird picked its way out, noticing the cats and taking flight in alarm. "Hello!" Kayli called out with a smile.

Smudge looked up, spotting a pretty she-cat and a very small tom."Hi!" He said happily. He had many friends around the Twolegplace but had never met these cats. He thought the she-cat looked familiar, maybe he had seen her around. Kayli, was her name. He watched them climb along the fence, and walked up to join them, making sure Lark was following.. "I'm Smudge," He said. "and-" He was about to introduce Lark when she piped up, "I'm Lark!" He purred. He loved Lark like his own sister. He had been there when she was abandoned on his Twolegs Steps. He nodded to Kayli and Kyle."What's your names?"

Kayli smiled, giggling playfully. "I'm Kayli, goof!" She burst out laughing, slipping off the fence and landing on some purple flowers. She continued to giggle. Kyle rolled his eyes. "My name is Kyle." He said, his voice sounding as if he were two moons.

Lark stared into Kyle's eyes. "Hi," she said, suddenly shy. Seh wondered how old this Kyle was. Meanwhile, Smudge leaped off the fence to see if Kayli was alright. She was laughing, so he started laughing, too. He rolled over playfully. "well, you are hyper, aren't you?" He asked, smiling.

"I usually am." She purred, smiling. On her back, she batted her paws in the air as if trying to play with an invisible ball of yarn. "Hi." Kyle replied, not at all shy or nervous around the pretty she-cat.

"Smudge darted for the piece of fake yarn, as if he was knocking it away from her. "I got it now!" He said. He focused in on Lark for a moment. Her and Kyle were having a convo. Going back to Kayli, he laughed and wooped happily. On the fence, Lark was thinking. "He is probably as old as me. That's why I haven't seen him around. She could tell Kyle was totally at ease. She smiled. "How long have you lived next door? I never see you."

"A while." Kyle said, shrugging. "I don't get out much, as you can probably tell." He said with a sigh.
Kayli laughed again, a fun giggle that could warm anyone's heart. Her snowy fur glittered, invisible against the snows of the twoleg yard.

[[Skipped out on her bio... -goes to make it quickly-]]
"A little over six moons." He read the expression on her face, putting together all she had said. He made a pretty good inference. "I get it a lot. Don't worry." Kyle said sincerely.
Kayli giggled again. "Snow is good for us white ones!" She cried with a smile.

Lark nodded, feeling small. She was only 3 moons old, and about the same size as Kyle. She felt bad for him, and she cared for him. Maybe they could become good friends...
Smudge nodded. "I have black patches though." He said, focused on Lark and Kyle. 6 moons? wow! He thought the tomcat was much younger. He turned to kayli and smiled.

"He gets that a lot. It's why he doesn't go out much." Kayli said, sighing. She wished Kyle could feel accepted. Kyle snorted at his friend's remark.
Hattie slipped through the gardens, leaping fences with ease. She felt nervous, scared at being out in the Leafbare, but also somewhat relaxed. Alone time. She heard cats up ahead and sighed. No alone time. She leaped another fence to see who it was and frowned. Smudge and a beautiful white she-cat playing together in the snow. Jealousy enraged her. Smudge was her tom, not this no-good kittens!

Smudge looked up, and spotted Hattie. He felt like walking on clouds. "Hattie!" He called out happily, forgetting momentarily about Kayli. He waved his tail for the pretty she-cat to come over.
Lark eyes Kyle. "Well, you seem like a great cat to me." She grinned.

Kyle rolled his eyes and scoffed.
Kayli felt unhappy at being ignored. But when she realized that Smudge seeemed to be attracted to Hattie in some way, she purred in amusement. "Smudge's got a girlfriend!" She called, and Hattie stopped with a sly grin. "I wish." She meowed innocently, rubbing her head against Smudge's.

Smudge blinked. He wished, too! He laughed at Kayli."Yeah! Hattie's my girlfriend." He blinked wamrly at her. Meanwhile, Lark felt unamused. Why did Kyle hate her? Or did he hate her? She sighed angrily.

Kayli looked at Lark and Kyle, and she watched Lark sigh. "Lark, come talk with me a minute." She meowed warmly. Kyle said nothing.
Hattie grinned. "I guess we are!" She exclaimed with a seductive smile.
