- Appearance: Smudge is a black and white tom with a pudgy stomach. He has a 'smudge' of black on his nose, giving him his name. His paws are soft and delicate, with soft, pink pads. His tail is long and black. His eyes are blue-gray.
- Personality:Smudge is lazy and fat, because he went to the cutter and came back like the rest of them-lethargic. He usually sits around on his fence all day, sunning. Other than that, Smudge is a loyal, great friend who was Firestar's Best Bud before the orange tom went to live with 'the wild cats who eat bones!!!'. Smudge never really liked the forest, so he stayed behind, his lazy self, wondering when he'd ever see his friend Rusty again.
- History:Born a kittypet, Smudge has no intentions of leaving his pampered life. Since kithood, Rusty and he had been best friends. Smudge told stories about the evil wild cats who ate bones in the forest and told Rusty to never venture far in the forest. But adventorous Rusty didn't listen, and he soon was in a tangle with who soon became his best friend, Graystripe, Graypaw then. Bluestar invited him to joiin the Clan and Smudge never saw his best bud ever again. Smudge has lived with his Twolegs his whole life and will stay put till he dies.
