The cool, crisp winds of Leafbare were not the only signs that the snow would remain. The sun shown brightly, but everywhere a cold wind or chilling shadow fell across the glaring white snow. Without cover, the snow reflected the sun's brilliant rays and made an almost blinding sea of white. Othernight was a wonderful hunter in the chill Leafbare, her near-white pelt easily disguised with snow. After rolling through some snow to hide her black spots, she had gone out hunting. However, the sun had not brought many creatures out. She could only manage to hunt down a scrawny old rabbit, who had been too weak and aged for much of a hunt anyway. She carried the snowy white fuzzball back into the camp sadly. Then she spotted her daughter, Devil's-kit. "Angel's-kit would have loved hunting in the snow. She would have been good at it." Othernight sighed, placing her rabbit in the spot where no prey rested, but should have. Suddenly, a thought struck her. She leaped up onto the Meeting Stump, calling out the traditional Clan call. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!" She figured Dragonstar was out attempting a hunt, but the ceremony had been put off too long. The deputy watched her Clan assemble, glad to have found her rightful place.
{[Okay! Well, Devil's-kit is ready for her ceremony. I also think Topazleaf's kits [Macadamia, Twitch and Chives] are ready to become apprentices. Anyone else need to become an apprentice or warrior? Anything needing to be announced?]}

OOC: I agree, I think they are.
ic: Topazleaf trotted happily into the clearing with her three kits by her side. Macadamiakit had a proud expression upon her face.

OOC: Passion's kits, Moonkit and Sunkit, probably need to be apprenticed.
Chiveskit poked her head out of the nursery, her ears angled forward. Dragonstar had been so busy lately, so she hadn't though much about becoming an apprentice. She was perfectly fine with waiting. The little brown kit bounced into the open, her eyes alight with curiosity. She wondered what this meeting was all about. Sitting down beside her mother.
Saviorsoul and his brother, Ravennight, padded into camp just as the summons for a meeting were called. Ravennnight's white-tipped and black ear shot forward at the same time. He was wondering when the apprentices would be assigned mentors. It was always an exciting day in any Clan, but both toms had something else on their minds. Saviorsoul was thinking of Ashfire - their sister - and Ravennight was thinking of that scent he had smelled near the border. It was dark - death tinged - but somehow less threatening. And Ravennight knew why. Because his sister's scent was mixed in there somewhere. The realization had plauged both toms, but for different reasons. Of course Ravennight was concerned for his sister, but he was always concerned for the Clans - especially TrueClan and ThunderClan. Saviorsoul was more single-minded though. The toms sat down and instantly Ravennight began twitching irritably. He hated this waiting and watching and sitting around doing nothing. He wanted action! Saviorsoul was much calmer, with half-closed eyes and a slight smile plastered on his tortoiseshell-masked face. Ravennight sometimes hated how relaxed his brother could be.
Destinykit heard something, and instantly she was alert. She saw her mother get up to follow Angel out of the Nursery. The kit's instincts were to go with them, but she knew somehow she wasn't meant to. Still, curiosity plauged her. She closed her eyes and saw a line of cats with smiling faces, padding up to other, bigger cats. She saw her own face in that line, smiling widely as a dark shape padded towards her. She blinked open her eyes. She knew this was not to be yet, but one day it would happen. Destinykit wanted so badly to see it now, though. She thought about the best way to see what was going on. She'd be caught if she exited the nursery by the front. She turned to Longkit.
"How we get out, hmm? How?" She asked quietly. Longkit blinked and hissed irritably. He looked up slightly and then cocked his head.
"Why want out?" He asked.
"Somethin' happenin'. Somethin' goood." The kit meowed fervently. Longkit blinked, and then nodded towards a small gap Destinykit had not known about.
"Get out there. Worked other day." Longkit grumbled. Destinykit turned to him and was going to ask him if he was going to come. But then she saw a dark shape sitting next to her outside the den, so she just nodded and turned to leave. She heard a surprised squeak from her brother as he darted after her. The two kits squeazed out of the hole in the nursery and crouched in the shadows, watching the ceremony with big eyes.

Sunkit bounced around eagerly, knowing this was it-Apprenticeship! It gave him tingles to know that he was on his way to be a warrior-or perhaps more! Deputyship, Leadership... it could be waiting around the corner! He jumped out of the nursery, only to her Destinykits excited meow. He turned to see them disappearing through a small hole, to watch the ceremony. He was about to order them back, feeling more authority with his to-be rank, when he just let it go. If I were that age, I would do the same thing, he told himself. But Moonkit wouldn't go with me, I bet.. He jumped out into the open to watch the exciting ceremony unfold. Shutterfly stared out into the open, hustling her kits out. hey desperately need to be apprenticed. Her kits were now 6 and a half moons old, but they hadn't been apprenticed-everyone was just too busy to notice. Her eldest daughter, Trotterkit, was enthusiastic. "Momma, are we to be appwenticed?" She said sweetly, her kit drawl still heavily in her voice. Amberkit, Canterkit, and Whitekit, her other three, were also interested. "Maybe," Shutterfly said slowly. "I'm not sure." Inkpaw and Rubypaw sat patiently outside the citcle of growing cats. "You know, I'm over the limit to be warrior-tized." Inkpaw growled to his medicine cat sister. "I know," she said softly,"...Im sure Othernight will make you a warrior. If she doesn't, we'll talk to her later." Inkpaw just nodded, staring at the Depyuty. "Yes. I hope I get a good name. What do you think it'll be?" He asked. "Who knows, you curious furball," his sister said affectionately. It was at these times Inkpaw thought about his birthclan, RiverClan. "How do you think are friends in RiverClan are? Do you think Stormstar is still leading?" He always wondered about those little things. He left RiverClan to find a better, more meaningful life in TrueClan. He had also felt small compared to his succesful and higher ranked sister. To his surprise, Rubypaw had followed him. But he was glad she did-he felt they were more equal away from his old Clan. "I'm not sure," Rubypaw said. "Maybe you'll see someone you know in the final battle." She fretted over this battle. But they had to do it. [Inkpaw needs to be made a warrior, and his warrior name will be Inksky. As aikoa said, Moonkit and Sunkit need to be apprenticed. Shutterfly's kits(Whitekit, Trotterkit, Amberkit and Canterkit)also need mentors .]

[[Okay, well...... We'll need any Warrior we can scrounge up to be mentors. Maybe some ex-Queens too... I'm running through this fast because I'm not supposed to be on right now... So I won't be on probably all the rest of the week. Which means I need to do as much as I can now, while I can be on. So I'm OOCing all the 'I Do' stuff, kk? And sorry, but I may need to use like everyone to be mentors... -.- Also, if your mentor and apprentice are both your characters it can't be much helped...]]
Othernight nodded as she smiled at the gathered cats. They all seemed so eager. She knew many cats needed mentors, to become warriors, and many other things. "We'll run through this as quickly and painlessly as possible." She began. "Devil's-kit, Sunkit, Moonkit, Whitekit, Trotterkit, Amberkit, Canterkit, Macadamiakit, Chiveskit, and Twitchkit - " she stopped to take a breath, "please come forward." She watched as all ten kits came forward. Could she find enough mentors? She sighed, beginning the ceremony "From now until you earn your warrior names, you shall all be known as -" she took another breath and began, "Devil's-paw, Sunpaw, Moonpaw, Whitepaw, Trotterpaw, Amberpaw, Canterpaw, Macadamiapaw, Chivespaw and Twitchpaw." She looked at the new apprentices. Now for mentors. "I shall mentor my daughter, Devil's-paw." She thought of her other kits. She knew they were old enough to be opening their eyes soon, and then she could leave them be with the other queens while she trained Devil's-paw. "I apologize to any ex-queens who become mentors now, but we must fill all positions. We shall also have multiple apprentices to mentor, again my apologies. Sunpaw and Whitepaw, Saviorsoul is your mentor. Moonpaw and Trotterpaw, Topazleaf will train you. Macadamiapaw, Chivespaw and Shutterfly. Amberpaw and Canterpaw will be with Lightningstrike. Twitchpaw will train with Inkpaw when he becomes a warrior." She stopped to catch her breath. So much new blood, and talent, in TrueClan. It was a good omen. "Inkpaw, you have trained hard and I know you are a faithful and trustworthy tom. You shall be known as Inksky, and we honor your patience and bravery in this dark time." She looked out among the other cats. She remembered the Gatherings, and suddenly knew what she had to do. They were almost worthy to be another Clan all together. "Some of you may know of this, but a Gathering is a meeting among the four Clans. Another one approaches us. We will attend this coming full moon. Clan dismissed." Othernight leaped from the stump, hurrying into the Nursery to check on her kits.

Macadamiapaw purred at her new name. She was finally an apprentice! Topazleaf nudged her forward and Macadamiapaw touched noses with Shutterfly. Macadamiapaw beckoned to her sister Chivespaw to do the same with their new mentor. Topazleaf quickly touched noses with her two new apprentices as well.

OOC: Ah poor rejected Ravennight XD LOL
BIC: Saviorsoul stiffened at the thought - two apprentices! He didn't know how he'd cope. At least he had Ravennight to help him. His brother looked undisturbed by the fact that newly Warriored apprentices and recent-Queens had gotten mentorship over him. After all, he had come to TrueClan from SilenceClan not long ago at all. Saviorsoul felt his brother's tail brush his shoulder gently.
"Go up and greet your apprentices." Ravennight meowed, and Saviorsoul was surprised to feel pride radiating from his brother's pelt. Was Ravennight not sorry that his little brother had been given apprentices before him? Apparently not, Saviorsoul smiled.
"Thanks!" He trotted forward, avoiding several cats, and stepped forward along with the other new mentors.
Destinykit watched with admiration and curiosity the precedings. Apprentice. That is what I will become. That is what I saw. I will become an apprentice. Destinykit thought, her eyes widening. Longkit seemed just as interested. The two smiled at each other - a rare occurance on Longkit's side - and then slipped back into the nursery - allegedly undetected.
Moonpaw was not sad that she would have to share a mentor. She knew Topazleaf only so well, but the she-cat had seemed very kind. Moonpaw was excited to begin her apprenticeship. She turned and saw Chiveskit bounding towards her new mentor, Shutterfly. The she-cat seemed excited. Moonpaw could blame her - at the moment her heart was racing. She turned and grinned widely at her brother, Sunpaw. Oh what good times were ahead of them!

Othernight padded up to Ravennight and smiled. "I hope you don't mind being passed over. But there are two kits I am waiting to become apprentice-age. They are very special, and I feel you can train them." She winked at the black tom, turning and looking at the new mentors and apprentices. She suddenly realized that not only Ravennight had been passed over. She blinked slowly. Where was Nightsky? No bother - maybe Ravennight and Nightsky could take on the two 'special kits', Destinykit and her sister Dreamkit. Maybe by then the Clan would have plenty of warriors. That might just be alright. She turned to see her daughter's eager expression - she looked so overjoyed! The two touched noses happily - mother and daughter. How great a day was this? Almost too good to be true.
Lightningstrike smiled at his two apprentices. Two! Who'd have heard of such a number? The Clan certainly was growing. Still, several warriors had been skipped. Over ex-queens and new warriors, too! But whatever her reason, Othernight had to have a good one. He trotted over to his apprentices. "Amberpaw and Canterpaw, eh?" He purred in amusement with a smile.
Twitchpaw frowned. He was the only cat with a mentor to himself. Why was that? Did Othernight think less of him? Did she feel he needed better training? Maybe he was just last on her list - least cared for. Or maybe this was a gift. No, it couldn't be. It had to be his empty ache and far-away heart. But why? He blinked, remembering that one spot of land. It was a clearing not too far from here, and apparently close to SilenceClan territory. But something there made him feel complete. He felt whole. Why? Like the young tom could reason out. He felt broken. Different. Only one with a mentor to himself, and a new Warrior at that. Probably left-overs. He sighed, touching Inksky's nose. "Hi." He meowed emptily.
