It was a confusing way to speak, but Mistrose was a rather quick learner. She filled in the few gaps and worked out he had said something and then "I don't remember you. I really loved you'. She tried not to think that meant he didn't love her anymore. She had to focus on the task at hand. She gently stroked his shoulder, testing out her ability to speak back to him. 'I will love you always.' She said rather hesitantly, thinking deeply before making the stroke. She hoped she hadn't messed up too much.

[[He actually said 'I know I loved you, but that's okay. She's a beginner.]]
'As will I.' Nightsky smiled proudly as Canyonfur tapped her 'yes'. "Looks like you've got it. I'll stay a night and tell him all about his history. I was there for his kit years, you were there for his apprentice and warrior years. We can catch up, he and I, and then he'll know." She thought for a moment. "But we'll leave out things like him trying to murder me and all that anger, okay?" She hoped Mistrose would understand. What Canyonfur didn't know he had done might make him a happier cat, as it would not weight him down any.

OOC: I know. I purposefully had her not be able to get a few words.
BIC: Mistrose nodded.
"I think... I think that'd be for the best." She meowed, remember their years in SilenceClan together. The less Canyonfur had to remember of those awful times the better.

"You best go looking for... err... your kit." Nightsky's memory failed her as to the name. She began to spin Canyonfur's life tale to him. 'You were found with your other three siblings at the ShadowClan camp entrance. You were always deaf, and you didn't like being treated different. Before you became an apprentice, you ran away.' After he asked her a question, Nightsky felt slightly embarrassed. 'I'll be more detailed later, just thought you'd want the summary. And of course. Rootpaw was the oldest, he had a missing front left paw. You were second-born. Third was me, Nightsky, and I am blind. Fourth was Sycamoretail, he's mute.' Suddenly, her heart stopped cold. "Does anyone know what happened to Rootpaw, our brother?" She asked, remembering where she was.

Kinkfur smiled as she looked down at the two kits in the Nursery. They were very beautiful kits, and they were Mistrose's. She herself was soon going to have her own kits. She sighed, looking at Rootkit and Shallowkit. Where was their sister? She sat down, nuzzling Rootkit gently. How adorable. Would her kits be so cute?

Shallowkit sat with his tail curled around his forepaws. He was hunched beside his brother, staring hard at the Queen who towered above him. His infant mind was working harder than expected, calculating the threat this cat posed. But he sensed no danger, and her scent told him she was like mother, like Midnightsun. Shallowkit had quickly picked up that his father was not in the Clan, but what he did not understand was why. Soon he would know, though. He sat and watched as the Queen sniffed at Rootkit, his brother. Shallowkit closed his eyes and relaxed, his ears drooping a little.

Kinkfur smiled at Shallowkit. Not sure what to say, she remained silent. Rootkit nuzzled his brother gently.
Canyonfur stood and stretched, padding up to Mistrose. She was his mate. He looked at her and sighed softly. She was certainly a very beautiful cat. He caught the scent of a Queen about her. Kits? He wondered curiously.

Mistrose nodded slightly and turned to the nursery. Would Shallowkit and Rootkit be scared without their sister? She hoped not. She saw Midnightsun leaving camp with a few of ShadowClan's best trackers. She was surprised to see Brokentail among them. Mistrose knew that Midnightsun didn't trust him. With a sigh, the Queen turned to the nursery and slowly began to pad towards it.
Shallowkit opened his eye slightly and sniffed. He caught his mother's scent, and instantly he was on his paws and leaving the nursery. Despite his clumsy appearance - with long legs and a rather stocky body - he was very quick. He stared up at his mother as she approached the nursery, and he watched as she smiled.
"Hello there, Shallowkit. Did you miss mommy?" She asked, stretching her muzzle down to nuzzle his head gently. He let out a little purr, happy that she was back. He blinked and turned to see a tom that smelled faintly familiar. He remembered seeing him a short time ago. There was something about that interaction that had caused him to become curious. There was something about that rust-colored tom, who looked so much like Rootkit, that made him wonder.

Kinkfur stood and stretched, padding out of the Nursery. She needed to get out of the cramped space, and give Mistrose some peace.
Rootkit, who had begun to fall asleep, awoke with a start. He bolted after his brother, but only made it a short distance before falling to the ground. He let out a muffled squeak and then began to wail sadly. To him, watching his mother nuzzle his brother meant she didn't like him as much. Canyonfur did not hear his son wail, but suddenly felt some strange instinct arouse him. He made a great, almost impossible, leap over his mate to land in front of the young kit. The kit looked exactly like Canyonfur. Exactly. Canyonfur nuzzled the kit, Rootkit no longer wailing but purring softly. He looked up at Mistrose and smiled. It was his son. His.

Mistrose smiled tenderly as she saw Canyonfur with Rootkit. She padded to her mate's side and bent down to lick Rootkit's head. This was all she could hope for really. Mistrose turned and saw Shallowkit watching them. There was a strange light in his eyes, and she felt a flicker of uncertainty when his dark eyes met hers. Then he got up and bounced over, almost bowling into Canyonfur. He smiled at Rootkit and then turned to Mistrose, his tail waving. She wondered what he was thinking, but then he was just a young kit.

Canyonfur felt completely content with two sons. It was a much better life than he had imagined! A mate, some kits, a loving sister and a perfect happiness about the whole Clan. He never did remember anything, but it only would have made him hurt. He never felt a better happiness than the one he was feeling now. Because somehow, a family with a loving mate and two beautiful kits was almost all any cat could want. Almost. Hearing would've been nice, but for now he'd have to do. Hearing could wait. As long as his family loved him... 'Names?' He asked his mate.

Mistrose turned and concentrated as he asked her what their son's names were. She replied unsteadily, making sure she got them perfect.
'Shallowkit and Rootkit'. She replied, smiling at Canyonfur happily.

Shallowkit and Rootkit. Canyonfur sighed inwardly, smiling. He had not the faintest remembrance of his brother, and therefore thought the name by popular choice. He blinked, suddenly confused. Hadn't the others been worried about another kit? He couldn't lip-read well, but not only his faint skills but the fatherly instinct inside told him something was wrong. 'Any others?'

Mistrose's smile faded. Her tail moved hesitantly at first.
'Yes. There was a she-kit. Necktarkit. But she went missing.' Mistrose sighed unhappily. She hoped Midnightsun would be able to find her kit.

Canyonfur gasped, fur standing on end. 'Can I help?' His fatherly instinct told him he had to find his kit. He would run forever in all directions until he found his daughter, is Mistrose said so. Adrenaline pumping, he waited for instructions.

Mistrose sighed.
'A friend of mine is out looking already. They are some of the best trackers in ShadowClan; I'm afraid if they can't find her, no one can.' She was miserable over the loss of Necktarkit, of course.

Canyonfur sat down, trying to relax. If course he couldn't track as well as the others. He was at a loss. But he would stay and guard his mate and the other two kits, and they wouldn't get away. Not on his watch they wouldn't.

Mistrose nodded, staring down at her kits with a worried expression. Why would her kit just dissapear? It made no sense. She sighed and wrapped herself around them, smiling when Shallowkit pressed into her belly and began nursing. She sighed. It felt like there was some part of her heart that had gone with Necktarkit, but she still loved her two remaining kits and her mate with a fiery passion that outlived any sorrow.
