[[For Canyonfur and Mistrose]]
A dark shadow filled the air. It flew on silent wing, landing with a soft thud on the swampy earth. The mouse did not know what hit it. Canyonfur delivered a swift bite to the neck, and the little grey scrap hung limp in his jowls. He turned to find his love, Mistrose, and head back with her. Today had been a good hunt.

Mistrose hated this swamp. She hated ShadowClan and all the stupid territory. Her mood had worsened over the past few days, even though she tried hard to hide that fact from Canyonfur. She just wanted to make him happy, but this place was torture. She couldn't hunt in this stupid bog because her paws kept sinking in the stupid mud. While Canyonfur had managed to catch a whole Clan-sized prey-pile she'd caught three frogs and two mice. Mistrose deposited the last of the mice onto their pile, wrinkling her nose in distaste. She hated the prey here; it had the scent of bog all around it. Mistrose tried to relax, to calm herself. It's not so bad... you'll get used to it. She told herself.

Canyonfur looked at Mistrose. "Okay, we take this back to camp. Nicely done, Mistrose. You've gotten better. We're done, let's go back." He turned and began to walk away. Then he picked up on the frustration and anger coming from Mistrose. He sighed. "What's wrong?" Canyonfur asked, dropping his prey and turning to face Mistrose.

Mistrose smiled widely.
"Oh, it's nothing. I'm just getting peeved at myself as cats do when they need to adapt to new places." She meowed innocently. She picked up some prey so as to have an excuse for no further discussion. She brushed past Canyonfur and tried to remember where she was supposed to do. It was hard to find her way around. Eventually she knew where she was and began to head back.

[[BTW, this thread is for their big fight!]]
Canyonfur shook his head. "You were the one who chose to come here. I gave you the option. Stop getting peeved." Canyonfur wanetd her to stop it, because it made him feel guilty. "Oh, and camp's this way." Canyonfur picked up his prey and began heading back to camp the right way.

That was it.
"WELL HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHERE THE BLOOMING CAMP IS WHEN THIS WHOLE PLACE IS A STICKING BOG!?!?" She screamed, her fur prickled. She threw her prey onto the wet, marshy ground and whirled around to glare at Canyonfur.
"And don't you pin this one on me! I wanted you to be happy, so don't get all self-righteous on me! I'm trying the best I can but that's just not good enough for you, is it?" She snapped.

Canyonfur dropped his prey, turning to face Mistrose. "Well whoop-di-doo! RUN ON BACK TO THOSE WHIMPY LITTLE WINDCLANNERS YOU LOVE SO MUCH. WHY AM I KEEPING YOU HERE, IN THIS STUPID, SMELL BOG!?!" He yelled at her. Why was she being so difficult? Was she not strong enough to be a ShadowClan cat?

Mistrose was stung by his words.
"I never knew WindClan like I did you, Canyonfur! You meant more to me! Is it so hard to believe I love you as much as you love me? Or am I incapable of loving in your eyes!?" She spat.

Canyonfur was surprised that she mentioned love. He frowned. Now she was just being rude. "Look, missy. Don't bring no love in this! You were in WindClan for how many moons? You're capable of adjusting! Maybe even WindClan would be tough, like ShadowClan is here. Wanna head back to SilenceClan and your buddies there!?!" He shouted at her in frustration. Why couldn't she just try to fit in here? Make any sort of attempt to be like a ShadowClanner?

Mistrose felt herself sinking farther and farther into some darkness she had no name for. Despair clawed up her heart like a stealthy fox, tearing and causing places of it to bleed. Mistrose felt insulted, stung, heart-broken by the words Canyonfur spoke. Why was he so angry with her? She had only wanted to make a sacrifice for him. Yes, she was being rather cranky about it, but that was to be expected. She had lived among WindClan for hardly even a moon, and she didn't remember it at all, really. All she could picture of that world was open moors, fresh scents, her mother's face and her sister's happy, high-pitched voice. She had lost all of that. And when Canyonpaw, a silent and sullen SilenceClan apprentice, came into her life, she thought she could be somewhat happy. He listened to her like no one ever had; he had tried, unlike anyone else, to understand. And now she felt as if her last refuge was being torn away. If she had thought she had hated ShadowClan's boggy territory before, she had no words to describe how she felt towards it now. Her fur bristled and her lips curled back to reveal her sharp teeth. She pinned her ears back and her eyes burned with hostility.
"I can't believe you, of all cats, would say something like that to me! I wish you would shut up and be a stupid mute again!" She shrieked.

Canyonfur froze. Never before had he felt so... let down. He shook his head in despair. All again it came flooding back - the frustration, the fear, how he had given up and gone to SilenceClan. Mistrose has changed his life, and now she was changing it again. He saw her baring her teeth, but compared to her wish it was child's play. "I would do anything for you." He meowed apologetically. For the second time since he could hear and speak he turned and ran, but this time not for embarrassment. This time he was going to go ask StarClan to take back his hearing. Maybe then, just maybe, Mistrose would be truly happy again.

Mistrose felt as if she were made of ice. What did he mean? Fear and doubt ran like icy rivers through her body. She tried to put one paw in front of the other, but she couldn't move.
"Canyonfur!" She called. But it was no use - he was gone. She began to tremble, her body appeared to be going to a fit of spasms.
"Not again..." She kept saying that phrase over and over - her heart racing and then falling into a slow-beating rythmn that almost couldn't constitute as a true heartbeat. Her mind was feebly wandering, as if it had snapped all of the sudden. She finally sank down and just lay there, breathing but hardly alive. She could hear a shout and a rush of paws, but she didn't have any idea who it was.
"Mistrose? Mistrose, are you Ok?" She looked up. Midnightsun's face was only inches from her own. His grey-blue eyes were worried but reassuring. She felt her heartbeat strengthen a little. Something about his look warmed her, made her happy.
"Canyonfur..." She mewed fitfully.
"Is he alright?" Midnightsun asked in a calm but strained voice.
"He left. He said he would do anything for me... and then he left..." She meowed.
"What did you want him to do?" Midnightsun asked.
"I told him I wished he would shut up and be a mute again." She said, her voice sounding like a little lost kit.
"Can you stand, Mistrose?" Midnightsun asked.
"Y-yes..." She meowed feebly. She stood, and Midnightsun lent her his shoulder to lean on. He took her back to camp, wondering what had happened between the two cats. They had seemed so close. But he remembered how ill-adapted Mistrose had been to ShadowClan - how she was still. Perhaps she had just snapped. He settled her into the Medicine cat's den.
"I'm here for you if you ever need anything, Mistrose. I promise we will find Canyonfur." He meowed, giving her ear a reassuring lick. Mistrose looked up at him, her feeble mind grasping his warmth and his friendship as if it were drowning in an icy sea.
"Thank you." She purred weakly.

[[-Canyonfur growls at Midnightsun- Curse his niceness! Man, don't Canyon and Mist just love to hate each other?]]
Canyonfur stumbled dumbly back to camp in a dark, quiet sea of color. He couldn't any more hear than he could break off his limbs and fly across an ocean. Now he was lost, only his eyes and his paws to guide him. Soon, however, he felt the soft mud underpaw instead of moorland grass and dirt. He did truly prefer ShadowClan, his home. When he came upon his Clan, he could scent where Mistrose was. He quickly hurried into the Medicine Cat's den, and stopped. He just stared at her.

Midnightsun had remained for a little while, watching Mistrose drift into an uncomfortable sleep. He stared with troubled eyes at her writhing form. She seemed to be in pain. Perhaps her very sanity was unstable when Canyonfur abandon her as he had. He heard something and pinned himself against the wall of the den. He saw Canyonfur then. Midnightsun let out a growl and thrust himself forward, his eyes blazing. He felt anger churning in his stomach, making his head spin.
"You should leave. I think you've caused her enough pain for one day." He meowed sternly, trying to restrain his fury a little.

Canyonfur heard nothing, and looked away as Midnightsun began to speak. He didn't want to hear it. He just gazed guiltily at Mistrose. He couldn't leave her again. I'm so sorry. I just wish I could tell you how much I love you. How I wish we could've been more than just friends. Mates. But you and I don't get along well. Maybe you and Midnightsun would be a good match. I'll always be watching you. Then Canyonfur turned and walked out of the camp. Always.

Midnightsun watched Canyonfur as he walked away. He was sure that the tom hadn't heard him but he wasn't sure how he knew. He heard something and saw Mistrose had woken. Her eyes were cloudy as she stared out of the den.
"Will he be coming back, Midnightsun?" She asked without much emotion. He frowned.
"Of course I'm not sure but I bet he will." Midnightsun meowed kindly. Mistrose looked up at him.
"I love him. I want him to come back." She said miserably. Midnightsun stared at her with concern in his pale grey-blue eyes.
"I don't know much about love, Mistrose, but I know one thing; he would be an idiot to not come back for you." Midnightsun growled firmly. Mistrose looked up at him and smiled.
"You're so sweet." She sighed. She got to her paws shakily.
"Are you sure you're strong enough?" Midnightsun asked.
"Yes. I'll get through." She meowed, smiling. Midnightsun saw some strange change in her. The weak, miserable cat she had been was suddenly gone. But it was not replaced by a fiery fierce she-cat she could be sometimes. She was reserved, humble, and had a sort of quiet strength about her. They padded out into the clearing together.
"Are you hungry?" Midnightsun asked.
"Yeah, a bit." Mistrose consented. Midnightsun nodded and darted to the pile. He picked up a mouse and brought it back to her. They lay down side-by-side and shared the meal.
"Thanks, Midnightsun. You really are a great friend." Mistrose said. She shook her head.
"I've said that a lot haven't I?"
"Yeah." Midnightsun said, embarressed.
"Well, I suppose it's true." Mistrose meowed, grinning slightly.

Canyonfur watched silently, emotionlessly. He would always watch Mistrose, never to leave her side. They'd never know, however. Never. He'd keep silent, vigilant watch. She'd probably fall in love, have kits, and live a happy life. No one would ever remember him soon. But that did not matter. He would keep her safe at al costs.

OOC: How long 'till she finds out?
BIC: Mistrose grinned slightly at Midnightsun. The two chatted for a little while and then settled down to share tongues. Mistrose hadn't forgotten about Canyonfur - she had just decided not to let this roadblock destroy her life. She had made him promise never to leave her again and he had; she still held him to that pledge. Mistrose had this feeling he never really leaved her. Somehow she felt his presence still, and that was enough. Midnightsun's friendship was a welcome respite, as well. The funny, kind-hearted tom seemed to give all his attention and more to the she-cat. It made her feel more loved and appreciated than she ever had with Canyonfur.

[[Ooohhh! Burn, crash and a burn! Would you like some ice with that burn? Ice, ice, dentyne i-cream for icecream, lalalalalala! Idiots, there will be king, I will be king, and you'll never go hungry again! xD My cousin made that one up... Oh, and I dunno... Maybe at birth? That's what happened to Othernight... Or is happening...]]
Canyonfur watched emotionlessly from the sidelines. Yes, he was jealous. But he deserved it. Midnightsun cared about Mistrose, and she was happy. So he was happy. As long as she was happy, he would feel happy for her. He had ruined her, and he would make it up to her by letting her live life freely as she would choose. He could do nothing. So, heart frozen and emotions coated in nothingness, he watched helplessly as his true love and the best thing to ever happen to him, fell in love with another cat.

OOC: Mmm I don't think that's really too logical. I'd say sort of when the signs start showin'... Although if she's only having three kits she won't get too big.
BIC: Mistrose sighed and looked up into the sky.
"It's so beautiful today. I think a hunt would do nicely to sum up... the day." She said, her voice growing quiet at the end of her exclamation. Midnightsun nodded.
"I could show you a few things about hunting in the bogs if you like. ShadowClan territory isn't the most hospitable but you get used to it." He meowed.
