Somewhere beyond hapiness and sadness I need to calculate what creates my own madness And I'm addicted to your punishment And your the master, and I am waiting for disaster...
[/sup][/i] The dark tabby-blotched tom sat with his tail curled around his forepaws and his ears pricked forward. On any other cat, it might have seemed a normal stance. But the wicked curve of his tail tip and the sinister gleam of interest in his eye seemed to poison any hope of normality in the tom's gestures. He seemed to be thinking cold, dark thoughts as he watched the scene; two birds fighting in midair, one destined to win and the other to fall. It was a horrid, gruesome specter, but one that was common in life. The tom's eyes gleamed as his thoughts raced - who would win? Would the smaller, attacked bird be able to defend itself and triumph? Or would the larger, fiercer bird be victorious? For him, it was a simple answer. The smaller one. Underdogs had been always been just that - under the rest. They were counted out - unlikely to succeed. But what the bigger ones never realized was that those that were undermined and ignored tended to travel in groups - there were fewer strong creatures in the world. And when those "losers", those underdogs banned together; that would be the end. The tom's predictions proved correct. A swarm of smaller birds came and attacked the larger one; they were protecting their comrade. It was a sickening if not admirable display. The tom wrinkled his nose as the larger bird flew off. He knew what it felt like to be the underdog and the big one. It sucked sometimes to think that sometimes fate ruled whether you won or loss. It didn't matter how smart or strong or passionate you were; you would either win or lose. It was the way of the world. Renegade sat contimplating this, the sun beating down on his thick fur. Greenleaf was such an unbearable season to a longhair like him, but he tended to ignore that fact. He'd been a rouge living out in the open plains so long, he tended to ignore discomfort. Chaos had never accepted complaining, and he was a brother who lived to please his sister. It was just the way he worked. Renegade turned to look back up in the sky and saw the small bids flying away. "Yes, fly little birds... but remember, there will be a larger bird wherever you go. To leave the flock is to invite misfortune." He meowed, twitching his whiskers slightly.

Sparkheart padded into the clearing. Her green gaze looked at the birds then to Renegade. Her ginger pelt blazed in the sunlight. She went and a sat beside him. "Hi" she mewed with a smile.

Renegade heard the padding of a cat's paws - he could smell the scent of SilenceClan as well as any other cat could. The tabby-marked tom had always been known for his skills at fighting. He was average at scenting and listening, it was a thing he had to work on. Another reason he had stuck by his sister so long was she was good at that sort of thing. They made a good team. Renegade turned and examined the she-cat. He recognized her, but her name escaped him. He thought deeply about it - well, deeply for him - and finally thought he had gotten in.
"Hello there. Sparkheart, right?" He said, grinning crookedly. He remembered his sister telling him he was too social. 'You must be more secretive, or else everyone will know you're a complete dunce!' She would say. But he didn't care. He liked talking to other cats; he liked getting to know them. If there was one thing he liked more than talking to cats, it was fighting them.

Sparkheart smiled and nodded. "Watching birds?" she asked, a playful hint in her voice.

Renegade watched her face and grinned crookedly as she joked.
"Yeah. Aren't they such savages? Truly insperational." He meowed, shaking his head in mock awe. Birds were stupid, but at least there was some truth in what he had said; their savagery was admirable. The larger birds were fierce, yes, but it was the little birds that inspired him. Renegade knew if he were a bird, he'd be a large one; but you wouldn't find him limping along like a wounded mouse. He'd be flying away with the flock. Surely there is some oddity in that. He thought with a grin.

Sparkheart nodded. "It is amazing how the little ones overpower the large one" she mewed. "Isn't it?"

Renegade inclined his head slightly, a slow smirk spreading over his features.
"Oh yes, quite." He replied. "But sometimes one must wonder what would happen if the larger birds thought like the smaller birds. What if one of the smaller birds teamed up with the larger ones? Who would stand in their way then?" He mused.

"I'm not sure" she mewed. "It reminds me of the clans" she mewed. "The big bird is a loner wandering the territory preying on a single clanmate" she said "then a patrol swoops into help."

Renegade grinned maliciously.
"Ah, but what if that larger bird... that Loner... had a patrol of his or her own? What if, like the Clans, the larger birds teamed together for a common goal? That is what SilenceClan is. That is it's essence. And that is why the Clans do.... and must... fear us." He meowed with a purr of delight. The thought comforted him; it gave him a sense of strength and courage.

Sparkheart nodded. "That's true" she mewed. She looked at him happily. "How about we go hunting?" she suggested. She enjoyed spending time Renegade.

Renegade nodded slightly.
"Mmm... alright. Sounds like a good idea." He meowed. Truthfully he wasn't sure what to make of the question. After all, no one ever asked him these things. Chaos just told him they were going hunting. What was he supposed to make of this evasive question? Did she want to go?
OOC: Way to confuse him XD

((LOL, sorry I didn't mean to confuse him))
Sparkheart smiled. She opened her maw, the mouthwatering scent of thrush hit her. The ginger tabby crouched and crept towards the thrush. It was pecking among leaves. She lept and caught it before the alarm call escaped its beak. She brought it back to where Renegade was. "Let's see what you got" she mewed playfully.

Renegade smiled slightly. He wasn't the best hunter, but he never let a challenge go unmet. He tasted the air and then stalked through the undergrowth. The scent of squirrel - a rarity in those parts - made his whiskers twitch. He paused, making sure he had the correct coordinates. Then, with a mighty heave, he shot after the squirrel and killed it before it even reached the trunk of its escape. He carried it back to Sparkheart and smirked at her with a nervous but playful gleam in his eye.
"How's that for you?" He asked, flicking his tail with pleasure that he'd done well.

"Nice catch" she mewed. "Can you catch me?" she asked. She bare;y waited a moment before dashing off. She went into the undergrowth and lept into a tree. She sat there, waiting, thinking. Thoughts about loving this handsome tom clouded her mind.

Renegade was startled as she raced off. Had he displeased her? He pondered for a minute. It seemed she wanted him to chace her. But he had never chased Chaos before. He didn't know what she really wanted him to do. She wasn't coming back, though, so he assumed he should follow. Renegade trotted off after her, following her scent until he found her up in a tree. She's not very much like Chaos. Renengade thought. Normally cats that were different irked him; he never understood what they wanted from him. But somehow he liked the unpredictable nature of Sparkheart. He wasn't sure why, but he did.

Sparkheart smiled. She lept down at him, attempting to bowl him over. "Guess I caught you" she mewed with a smile.

Renegade let out a startled grunt as Sparkheart tackled him. He sat staring at her, dazed. Despite her confusing anticts, he sort of was enjoying being around her. He shook his head and then stared at her questioningly. What was he supposed to do now? Perhaps I should think for myself...? No! Chaos says that I'm too stupid to think anything clever. But Sparkheart isn't telling me to do anything... so what should I do? Renegade frowned. When he was alone, he made his own choices. Maybe this was like that? He nodded. That must be it! He smiled and leaped to his paws, lashing his tail.
"Maybe," he growled playfully, "But I bet I can catch you this time!" He meowed, hoping he hadn't offended her or anything. He just felt like being himself... even if he wasn't sure what that meant.
OOC: He's secretly not that stupid, actually. It's his sister's fault. XD

"We'll see" she mewed teasingly. She raced off, pauysing a few times to look back with a playful grin.

OOC: I know it makes me laugh! lol.
BIC: Renegade sprinted forward, but his bulk was no match for Sparkheart's more sprightly frame. He gave up after a bit and shook his head, panting.
"You win! I'm terrible at sprints... especially long ones." He meowed, gasping.

Sparkheart halted, she turned and smiled. She sprinted back to him. "We can work on your speed" she mewed "by having some fun and a few more races."
