  >history, background: His parent's names were Hawktalon, who was a ex-ThunderClanner (exiled for disobeying his leader's orders), and Angelwing. They had adored each other ever since they were kits, and Angelwing became pregnant only a few days after Hawktalon's banishment. Broken-hearted, the she-cat probably would have killed herself if not for her kits. She began to sneak out to see her mate, and soon everyone suspected her and kept her locked in camp. She died after she gave birth. No cat was sure why, but some Elders whispered it was because she had lost her will to go on. Hawktalon was found drowned in the river about a moon later. Firekit was eaten by a fox a few moons after his birth, and when Amberkit died of Greencough, all of ThunderClan thought the family must have been cursed from the beginning. But little Tanglekit lived, and he seemed normal enough. Even at the age of six moons, though, he was dreadfully serious and always replied with a "yes, sir," or "no, sir." Everyone mistrusted him at first, but finally they dropped their foolish thoughts. He was distant and oftentimes mysterious, but no one doubted that Tanglepaw was loyal. At least, no one had a reason to. When Tanglepaw became a warrior with the name of Tangleroot (named for the place he was found as a kit. His mother managed to slip out of the ravine to give birth, and she died in a small den made by tangled treeroots.) the tom seemed to be as diligent as ever to protect and preserve his Clan. But many of the most insightful cats, especially Bluestar, the Leader, saw a strange darkness in him. And none of them ever knew why.

  >body: lean for a ThunderClanner, but still very powerful. He has the legs of a SkyClanner (a distant cousin of Spottedleaf and Tigerclaw).

  >marks,scars: black stripes and spots. A white muzzle and the fur above his eyes is white. He has a strange almost dead tree-shaped scar on his hindleg that was considered to be a birthmark (it's very small, he's had it since he was a kit).
