A small ginger she-cat sat at the edge of the river. She placed a paw in the cool water. It was a gorgeous day, the sun was warm and the river cool. It was perfect. Flameheart looked into the water, seeing a silver and black cat, before they vanished with the current.

Drippingpaw crouched behind Flameheart, ready to sneak up and pounce on her. He noticed that his reflection was visible in the water, but he hoped she wouldn't notice. With a sharp twitch of his leg muscles, he pounced. Ah, how he loved soaring through the air! It was an amazing feeling, almost as good as being int he water. Quickly, Drippingpaw thought through the results of his idea. If he got Flameheart, the resulting tumble might send them both to the river. If he missed, he landed in the river. Both seemed fine by him!

((Her name's Flameheart))
Flameheart wasn't being that observant. She was lost in the beauty of the day. In the flick of a tail she was in the river. She turned to see Drippingpaw there. She just smiled and let out a mrrow of laughter. "Good job at catching the medicine cat" she joked.

Drippingpaw laughed, and was surprised at how adult he sounded. "Well, you know, it takes a hunter to catch a mouse, but a real warrior to catch a cat, no matter what kind!", he joked. He swam in the water. "Aaahhh, this is such a nice day to swim, ya know?" He was telling the truth too. It wasn't so hot that he felt like he needed to swim, but it was warm enough to keep the water heated. The water flowed downstream, through his legs and fur. It felt great. "So, how are you?", he asked Flameheart calmly.

Flameheart just rolled her eyes. She remembered that her apprenticeship wasn't this fun. "Well you shouldn't be pushing cats into rivers" she said. "Wet, but other than that, good" she mewed, "yourself?"

Drippingpaw dipped his head in the water and flipped it back out, spreading water into the air in a mohawk-like fashion. "I'm good. A little worried though. I should be a warrior in a moon or so, but i haven't had much proper training. I hope the clan accepts that I'm still a good warrior." He swam up against the stream to meet up with Flameheart, and laughed. "And a good swimmer!"

Flameheart smiled. "I'm sure you'll be a fine warrior" she mewed "and you're a good swimmer." She splashed Drippingpaw with her ginger paws. Water was sent into the air, it glittered as the sun met it.

OOC: Look for iiiitttt....
IC: Drippingpaw laughed again. He did that a lot. "Thanks Flameheart," he meowed, "and I'm sure that you'll make an actually good medicine cat someday!" Before Flameheart could say anything, he quickly mewed "Just kidding!", and put his dripping paws out of the water, as if to surrender.

Flameheart shook her head. "And maybe you'll be smart one day" she teased. She pounced at him, pushing him under.

Drippingpaw muscled his way out of the water, under Flameheart's weight. "I am smart!", he replied. "Test me!" In the back of his mind Drippingpaw hoped that Flameheart didn't have much to test him on. He wasn't so sure of his intellectual prowess.

"I won't waste my time" she mewed "on someone of your intelect." She turned and slowly waded away.

"Oh yeah?", Drippingpaw quickly swam up to cut off Flameheart. "Come ooonnn! Quiz meeee!!!!! What's the worst that could happen?" That's when Drippingpaw had an idea. "Unless... unless you don't actually have anything to test me on!"

Flameheart turned to face him again. A sly smile on her face. "Tell me how to heal a wound" she mewed.

Drippingpaw thought for a second. "Well," he thought, "I know that you have to put lots of cobwebs on it to stop the bleeding, and for those who are really in pain, you give them poppy seeds, but other than that, I can't tell you. I'm not a medicine cat." He looked sheepishly at the water, then brightened up a bit when he saw his face. Drippigpaw was a bit vain.

Flameheart nodded, somewhat impressed. "That's pretty good" she mewed "you know alot more than some others" she said. She watched as he smiled at the sight of his reflection and just smiled. "So what have you been up to?" she asked.

Drippingpaw reluctantly dragged himself away from his own image and laughed sheepishly. "Uh, nothin' much," he replied. In reality, he had been trying to be as close to Lichenpaw as possible. He didn't know what he had...felt about her. It made him feel great and scared, and shy. He felt embarrassed to be feeling it, and also jubilated to know that its happening to him. "Yeah, nothin' much. You?"

Flameheart could tell something was on his mind. Something probably similar to what was on hers. The one perfect tom she met was constantly on her mind. "Not much lately" she mewed "clan injuries have been low lately."

Drippingpaw jerked his head up in a nod, focusing somewhere else. "Ha. That's good, I guess. I mean, no wars going on, at least." Drippingpaw had always been excited to battle, but now that he thought about it, did he really want to? A grey paw dipped into the water, spinning around, making currents. How would he feel about Lichenpaw going into battle? Could he bear it? His mind drifted... Would he protect the Clan over Lichenpaw, or would he sacrifice her for the Clan? Would he ever let her into danger? Does she even know what he felt about her? He longed to see her... "Yeah, that's good. No battles. No... anything."

Flameheart nodded. "Just the same old stuff" she mewed "nothing exciting lately." She studied him, sensing there was something on his mind. "What's on your mind?" she asked.

Drippingpaw shook his head a bit too violently. "Uh, nothing, nothing. Don't worry about it" He looked around. The sky sat still and so did the trees, like they too knew how droll it was recently. "Whaddya say we make it more exciting, huh?" A mischevious smile came to his lips.
