The leaves rustled as if the breath of a mighty beast stirred them, wildly whipping to and fro and then calming, only to be whipped again when the breath struck once more. The odd sounds of Monsters were somehow hushed in the prevailing noise of the forest; the flapping of wings, chirping of birds, scuttling of mice, leaping of hares... the sounds were picked up, not all at once detected, by the ears of the skillfull hunter. The cat's body was lithe, small, silken, a beautiful black and white color with patches around the she-cat's grey-blue eyes that framed the arrow up her forehead. Her face was somewhat flat, but attractively so, set with an 'L' shaped nose bridge and large but gracefully shaped ears. Although she had bold black markings on her face and tail, the ones on her back were flickered with white hairs, making her look somehow unfocused, almost unreal. The she-cat lowered herself to the ground as another Monster sped past, showering grit that smelled foully of the dark Thunderpath's surface all over her side. She curled up her nose and wondered why her brother had asked her to keep a lookout on the border. She was growing more irritable by the second, and even though her sweet temper usually allowed itself to make a more bold appearance, her better hidden impaitence still boiled to escape. She hoped Shadestrike would come soon, or better yet Greyveil, and tell her she could leave this sullen, foul-scented place. She heard the bushes crackling but expected nothing but birds or other types of prey. What cat in their right mind would be this close to the Thunderpath, after all? Then again, why are you here? Tinywhisper wondered mutinously as she stared out at the border.

The muscular body of a tom cat, weaved through the surroundings. The tom's black ears were pricked, sounds of mice and monsters met them. Next came the scents, squirrel, rabbit, mouse and monster, but also a fellow ShadowClan cat. The curious tom, slunk towards the scent. His crystal blue gaze was locked onto Tinywhisper. Tidalwave slowly crept over to her. "Hello" he mewed to the pretty she-cat.

Tinywhisper, lost deeply in bittersweet, sometimes terribly dreadful thoughts, had not heard or scented the approach of her Clanmate. His voice was her first acknowledgement of his presence, and therefore startled her to the point of lurching to one side, almost in the path of an oncoming monster if she had not properly skirted herself back to safety in time. With a relieved sigh, seeing a familiar ShadowClanner instead of the cat she had suspected, Tinywhisper dipped her head and smiled a bit shyly, not sure how to proceed.
"Hi..." She said somewhat awkwardly. She recognized Tidalwave after a moment of examination. It was sometimes hard to keep track of who was leaving and who was coming these days, what with the weak borders of the forest so easily turned.

Tidalwave watched as she stumbled over, but luckily regained her footing. "Lost in thought" he opbserved. He studied the attractive she-cat. Normally he would've made a harsh comment. "What are you doing sitting here, all by yourself?" he asked.

Tinywhisper studied the tom for a few moments, wondering if she should tell him. NO! Shadestrike and... they would kill me! Slash my throat like they did hers, and they will do it to them too... oh I wish I could help. I don't want him to die... She thought, shuddering inwardly but remaining partially calm on the exterior. Besides an aggitated twitch of her tail her smile didn't falter.
"Er, I was just... um... t-thinking, like you s-said..." She stammered, her usual uneasiness returning with the darkness of the subject this tom, Tidalwave, had broached upon

Tidalwave just looked at her. His crystal eyes staring into hers, digging through her emotions. "Why are you really here?" he asked.

His eyes penetrated her very soul in some aspects, rendering her heart as she thought of her friends, Clanmates... all the cats that would inevitably find their fates tied with those already gone. StarClan would not welcome her if her brother's temper finally errupted. She turned away from Tidalwave, lost in the intensity and unable to think under the stare his eyes kept on her.
"I'm not sure. Watching. Waiting." She muttered under her breath. It was partially true. She knew why she was here in some respects, but mostly she was just blindly following orders. Tinywhisper held little trust in the circle of deciet that was hidden so well it seemed in her Clan. She thought of a certain she-cat, and the horrible plans her brother had already laid out... Poor... poor... I wish we could have been friends... She thought, trying her best not to cry. It was just so hard sometimes...

Tidalwave sat next to her. "ALright, if you say so" he mewed. He could sense the sadness and pain that gripped her. "What's wrong?" he asked.

Tinywhisper flinched away from him a little but then forced herself to relax. She looked down at her paws. If only you knew...
"Everything." She replied curtly, staring across the Thunderpath and wishing she could regain control of her life. But if she didn't obey them, then they would kill her just to silence her. If she told before they could, they would find her and kill her anyway. If she disobeyed, they would not allow her to see her dear brother Greyveil, her only standing friend in the world... Everything indeed was a mess for her. She just wanted to fade away like this had never happened, like her mother and father had never abandoned her... Shadestrike new their father, and he said she would be afraid just to know how ashamed he was of her and how he wanted to kill her but wouldn't because of his protection... Tinywhisper sighed. Life couldn't be more wrong.

Tidalwave stroked her back with his tail. He could tell she was deeply troubled. He knew it was Shadestrike's treatment, he saw the way he treated her, rudely and harshly. "Can I help?" he asked, like by ripping Shadestrike's pelt off?

Tinywhisper tried not to shy away from his touch. He was only being kind, only trying to help her in some way. She shook her head and sighed very softly, her blue eyes fixed on something else, anything but his face.
"No cat can help me. I wouldn't ask them to." She said quietly. For some reason she felt less uncomfortable around him. She hoped that Shadestrike wouldn't come ambling along, he'd just-
"Tinywhisper, what are you doing?" She froze and immediately shied away from Tidalwave.
"I-I..."
"I thought I told you to keep watch, not go gallavanting with every tom you see. Stop being such a very *friendly* person and do what you're told." He growled harshly, and Tinywhisper flinched.

Tidalwave got tho his paws and faced Shadestrike. He glared at him, his deep blue eyes in a fiery rage. "Why don't don't you treat her like your sister nad not a slave" he hissed. He couldn't stand Shadestrike.

Shadestrike glared at the tom.
"I don't think you understand her position very well. Or perhaps she'd like me to tell you...?" He mused, looking at her horrified face.
"No, please, Shadestrike! I'll pay attention! I won't talk to anyone else, promise!" She cried.
"That's better." He meowed smugly.

Shadestrike frowned down his nose at the tom once more. Who was he, that he should speak to him like that? He didn't understand, that was apparent. At least that means she hasn't told him anything. Getting attached is the worst thing for Tinywhisper now. He thought.
"Because," he meowed, turning to Tidalwave, "She deserves none. She's a coward, a little shrimp, too scared to do anything but cower and obey. It's all she's good for, the little bug." He growled, and Tinywhisper looked imploringly up at Tidalwave.
"Please don't... I'm fine, just leave it alone." She begged.

Tidalwave shook his head. "It's only because that's what you made her" he hissed. He walked up to him and glared deep into his soul. "She's worth much more, than you give her credit for" he mewed.

Tinywhisper cowered, just as her brother said, and stared in terror at Tidalwave. If he got on Shadestrike's bad side... she shivered as she remembered the last cat that had done so - just an innocent loner passing by, not meaning any cat harm...
"She was born that way, fool, and you understand nothing. You'd best watch your mouth or you might regret it some day." He meowed, glaring. Tinywhisper felt her limbs shake as she rose a little from her position and she flattened her ears.
"He's not doing anything wrong, Shadestrike. Leave him be." She hissed.
"Or what?" He snapped.
"Or I'll-"
"You wouldn't dare. You're afraid. You know what will happen if you do." He meowed, smiling at her slyly. She gulped and her eyes widen, her moment of bravery forgotten in her fear.

Tidalwave shook his head. "I understand more than you think" he mewed. He looked as Tinywhisper got up and stood up for herself. He turned back to Shadestrike, a struck him acroos the maw with unsheathed claws.

Tinywhisper let out a shocked squeak and Shadestrike stiffened, his eyes narrowing. He turned, his gaze cold as he looked over his shoulder.
"You'll regret that." He growled, prowling off. Tinywhisper stood there, trembling. She looked at Tidalwave with wide eyes.
"Why did you have to upset him? He's going to kill you now!" She exclaimed before she could check herself. She whimpered a bit and shrunk down, closing her eyes and sighing.
"He'll kill me too I guess." She muttered.
