Otehrstar;s weary paws padded slowly, making soft plunk-plunk sounds on the hard ground as she walked. She didn't really seem to notice that it was a full moon, nor that she was heading with a group of cats to the Gathering. All she could think about was her kits. Trying to help and jeopardizing the whole Clan. They hadn't know, had they? Her soft face was glimmering in starlight but it was hard to tell that she was sad. Only her soft, smooth footfalls gave away her faulty emotions.
So with a sigh the beautiful leader carried herself alone ahead of the group to Fourtrees. She wondered if a fifth tree would grow in, only to remember this wasn't a real Clan. And it most certainly wasn't her home. She had to face the music. She was born o ThunderClan, and had the strong build of one too. She had the beauty and was sleek like a RiverClanner, she was fast like a WindClanner. She was strong like a ShadowClanner and built like a ThunderClanner. But her heart was all SilenceClanner. Or so it had been until she had several events i her life that had changed the course of her destiny.
The first event had been something nobody had seen coming. Her becoming Deputy of SilenceClan. This had caused her to begin to plot an evil plan to kill Shadowstar so that she might lead in his dark footsteps. It had all been brought down upon her own shoulders, however, and she could scarcely believe she had gone from leading the forest's darkest Clan to leading the forest's most redeeming one. It seemed unlikely, and even impossible, so she hardly thought about the luck in her fate. Because leading joy and happiness was much better than leading pain and hatred.
The second event was the birth of her kits. This had given her five seconds of motherly pride. It may have been false love, and it might have been brought on by cruel and thoughtless deeds, even potentially hurting a she-cat she had never meant to hurt. But Otherstar had been a SilenceClanner, and it had hardly mattered. Before she had become a Deputy she became pregnant with the kits of a cat she despised and would later kill. And even if it was wrong, she knew that the kits were her greatest reason to redeem herself. For little Shadowkit and Angel's-kit and all the poor, dead kits out there in the stars.
The third event had been Shadowkit's death. It had been quick and cruel, heartless and filled with spite. But it had caused Otherstar to kill the dark leader who had killed her son. And then when she had let two cats fight to be Deputy, she had seen the sad face of her son. The guilt had caused her to tell her two daughters the truth about their parents and all. But poor Angel's-kit had been heartbroken, and had run away. She had vanished at the gorge, and drowned.
So Otherstar found herself slowly walking to the Gathering and suddenly there. First this time. She sighed and leaped onto the Highrock, still not having a chance to talk to the ThunderClanners she so longed to speak with. What had happened to Tigermoon? Her sister's kits? But she figured being leader denied her the pleasure of seeing what had happened to her birthClan, and she knew she hardly deserved it anyway. So sitting and waiting, she watched for another Clan to arrive.
