Lichenpaw sadly plodded along, wondering where her father might be. Was he dead? She remembered he wasn't her father. Was he dead? She loved him like a father, and didn't want him to be. Was he dead? She tried to stop thinking those painful thoughts, and blinked up at the deep RiverClan territory. All so beautiful and fresh and fair. She remembered a night similar to that one when she had only been three moons old. Lichenkit then, and darker than the night. Her adoptive dad had told her he wanted to rid the forest of a murderer and make him suffer. So he had. He'd drowned Canyonfur whole she, Lichenkit, had stolen his only daughter in the fray.
So wrong. Why had she agreed to do it? Why would she make a family suffer, a little kit suffer, because her adoptive father asked her to? Why would she do that? She couldn't answer the question, which made her upset. She had taken an innocent kit and given her a terrible life here. Poor Ghostpaw needed to know the truth. But Lichenpaw was too afraid to say anything. She sighed and swirled her tail in a puddle of water.
Suddenly, the puddle began to glow. She saw that night long ago, and watched Canyonfur fall into the pool of water. Dead. He was pulled out, and suddenly he was alive. He hadn't died after all! What had she done? She had taken the kit of a tom who hadn't died after all, only adding to his pain. She watched as the pool changed. A scene of the future played out before her, of her father and a beautiful she-cat. They were at the Thunderpath, for sure. ShadowClan side, obvious by its swampy marshland beyond. And then a rumble could be heard. A monster coming! And the she-cat, a blue cat with distinctive marks, was sent flying back by her father. The monster hit her, killed her, and the vision faded with the she-cat.
Lichenpaw bolted up. Canyonfur was about to be killed by Rootclaw, he must've known. The she-cat had been trying to stop him and he had killed her! Quick as a flash, Lichenpaw raced out after the ShadowClan territory. She'd do something good and save Canyonfur yet. She'd take him to his kit. She would make everything better. So the she-cat ran as fast as her little feet could take her. Soon Lichenpaw scented ShadowClan, but no Rootclaw. She was going to make it! She darted through the territory until she reached the camp. Panting, she looked around at the confused cats. "I need to see Canyonfur or his mate! Please." She collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. "Please..."

Mistrose sat with her tail curled over her grey forepaws, her pale blue eyes staring down at her meal. She blinked and looked up as a young cat - somehow very familiar - bolted into the camp like she was a maddened badger. Mistrose shot to her paws, bristling. Then the cat asked to speak with her and her mate, Canyonfur. What could she want? Mistrose wondered, padding up to the Warrior's den.
"Canyonfur, come out a moment if you're in there." She called, turning to walk over to the apprentice. She smelled of RiverClan, but didn't have the complete build of one. Probably either a rouge turned Clanner or a half-Clanner.
"I'm Mistrose, Canyonfur's mate. What do you want?" She demanded.

Lichenpaw gasped as she looked over at Canyonfur's mate. All too familiar, it seemed. She wished she had never met Rootclaw, but she couldn't forget him. He had done so much for her, it was both horrifying and saddening. It meant she owed him something. No, she didn't. She'd tell the truth even if it killed her. "I need to tell you something... About your mate, and his brother... And your daughter..." Lichenpaw said, still gasping a little.

Mistrose remembered. The kit... she came to me and told me about Canyonfur... She recalled. Cocking her head to one side, she stared intently at the young cat.
"Yes... what is it?" She asked. She wondered what this cat could possibly know of her little lost kit, or Canyonfur's brother, or her mate himself. What would a RiverClanner know?

Lichenpaw swallowed, her doubts beginning to make her feel like she may be making a huge mistake. But she didn't have much of a choice anymore, did she? With a sigh, she nodded and looked up at Mistrose. "When I came to you, it was about Rootclaw. He was killing Canyonfur. But he wasn't successful, though he doesn't know that. I'm here about your daughter, Ghostpaw. She's a happy RiverClanner now."

Mistrose's eyes widened. Ghostpaw... Her little Necktarkit was safe... she was living a happy life. In another Clan, but a life nonetheless. Mistrose felt relief swelling up in her heart. She smiled at the young cat who had come to her. She didn't care what she'd done before, what mattered was what she'd done now.
"T-thank you... so much... for telling me. It means... a lot. I am so relieved to hear she is well." Mistrose mewed softly, tears in her eyes. A dark apprentice paused at the entrance of camp and stared at her. He'd heard. His blue eyes stayed on the young cat for a few moments, and then he padded forward and nodded to his mother.

"If you want you could... come with me to meet her... She'd love that. She thinks you're dead, and that Rootclaw is her father..." Lichenpaw meowed unsurely. She didn't want to endanger this Mistrose, but she knew how much meeting her own mother had meant to her. This could be a grand opportunity for mother and daughter, if she wanted. But Lichenpaw would leave that up to her.

Mistrose's ears pricked. She wrestled between want and her mind, which warned her of interfering in her daughter's new life. But she couldn't say no. She wanted to see Necktarkit - or Ghostpaw - so badly.
"Alright, I will come." She mewed eagerly.

Lichenpaw nodded, standing and stretching. Before she could set off, however, she looked around the camp one last time. "The other kits, or Canyonfur, would they care to come also?" She asked, hoping that she could be of more assistance. Would it be fair for only Mistrose to meet Ghostpaw?

Mistrose nodded. She turned to the dark apprentice who watched without much emotion.
"Shallowpaw? Go fetch your father and your brother please." She meowed. Shallowpaw nodded slowly and turned, his shoulders rippling with power as he sprinted with surprising agility out of the camp.
"He'll meet us, I'm sure. My son has the speed of a WindClanner, that's for sure." Mistrose said proudly, motioning towards the camp entrance. She wanted to leave before too many cats noticed the newcomer's presence.

Lichenpaw nodded and hurried out into the open land. She made quick work of clearing ShadowClan as she felt like a hated stranger there. Soon she scented her own RiverClan home and she noted that her sister's scent was fresh. She'd asked Ghostpaw to meet her at a small spot where the water was calm and shallow in the brook. She smiled and trotted up to Ghostpaw with a brief nod. "Someone wants to meet you." She said and turned to gesture to Mistrose.

OOC: Well I guess her father and bros could follow Misty and Lichen's scent, so they will show up later...
BIC: Mistrose padded warily forward, her pale blue eyes on the one thing that mattered in that moment; her daughter. She didn't care what her name was, what happed necissarily happened, all Mistrose cared about was the cat standing before her. She pricked her ears forward and examined her with all the eagerness of a mother parted from her child. She lifted her grey-tinged tail and smiled.
"Hello... Ghostpaw. My name is Mistrose. I... I'm your mother." She mewed softly, smiling. She didn't know how much Ghostpaw knew about her, but she figured she'd cover the basics.

[[Canyon isn't gonna come, he's a chicken xD ]]
Ghostpaw had been fishing and waiting for her sister like Lichenpaw had promised. A surprise, she had said. A big surprise. So Ghostpaw waited quietly, her pure white eyes and glittering red claws watching and then hooking fish, only to throw it back in a bored fashion. She could go hunting later. Now was time for this 'surprise'. With a soft sigh, she glanced up as she heard Lichenpaw coming. Sliding her claws back in, she decided she couldn't show anyone. Not yet. Her sister spoke and then backed away into the reeds of the river. Ghostpaw stood up and blinked at Mistrose as the strange she-cat spoke next. Her mother. Really? Was this really her mother? She quickly looked up at the she-cat and smiled. "Show me your claws."

Mistrose blinked. Then she remembered. Necktarkit... she had claws just like mine. Mistrose looked down at her paws, and slowly unsheathed the curved scarlet claws hidden within. They glinted a little oddly in the light, looking as if they were covered in blood. They were a deformity in her line, a strange and wondrous occurance that wasn't as rare as it was somewhat unwanted. But she had never minded it before. Now, they seemed to tie her to her daughter, and for that Mistrose could only be thankful.
"You see? Red, just like yours." She mewed softly, smiling.

Ghostpaw let her own red claws slide out and she sighed. They were the only color on her, with her snowy white fur that seemed to glow with purity and her white eyes without pupils or an iris. The red of her claws always made her happy to know that somehow she was a little more like her mother than she thought. Ghostpaw smiled. "You are." She said softly, disbelieving.

Mistrose smiled, nodding gently.
"Yes. I'm so glad to see you again, Ne- I mean, Ghostpaw. I thought you'd left my life for good. How are things in RiverClan?" She asked hopefully. She wanted nothing but the best for her daughter. She wanted her to be happy. She was so proud of her little kit... so grown up already.

"I'm a good apprentice. But my best friend left me....." Ghostpaw said sadly, sighing. She looked up at her mother, Mistrose, and frowned. "What were you about to call me?"

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." Mistrose mewed softly. She blinked at the question her daughter asked and then smiled slightly.
"I was about to call you Necktarkit. That was the name I gave you when you were born in ShadowClan with your two brothers, Rootpaw and Shallowpaw." She mewed.

"Nectarkit..." Ghostpaw liked that name a lot better. It didn't make her feel like an outcast. It didn't remind her of her white eyes, ghastly fur, and dark bloodred claws. She hated thinking of herself as different. Nectarkit seemed a little more accepting to her, but she was unsure if she wanted to change. Because Ghostpaw was all she had known.

Mistrose smiled a little.
"Yeah. I named you after my sister. We were kitnapped from WindClan quite a few moons ago. But that's a whole other story." She sighed, "Have you made any friends in RiverClan?" She asked hopefully.
