I can see that everything is changing. Where do I go when I'm drowning in lies? Before me my whole life is rearranging. Where do I run now beneath the skies? I can see you, hiding beneath your fear, And from what I see I can't get near. Destinypaw lifted her eyes to the dark clouds that loomed overhead. She could see them passing within the next couple days, though. The patter of rain only helped to further chill her heart as her fur stuck to her skin uncomfortably and her eyelids flickered to take away the sting of water in her eyes. She looked down, her whiskers drooping with shining droplets that threaned to fall with every passing moment. If she could not see the silver lining beyond the storm, Destinypaw wondered if she would be able to paitently await the end of the rainfall. I wonder what Longpaw and Dreampaw are doing. Destinypaw thought. She had always had a soft spot for her siblings, and yet they'd never been particularly close. Longpaw didn't like her - or just about anyone - and Dreampaw tended to shy away from all company. But that still didn't surpress Destinypaw's unquiting desire to be close to them. Her mother had grown distant, too, after the death of their father. Destinypaw wished things had been different. She wished her parents were there to love her, and her siblings there to comfort her. Without them, what had she? Nothing. Destinypaw sighed as she padded through the muddy fields, wandering towards the Stone where many a cat had released the pains of their past. She scrambled up the wet stone and sat, finding past images of cats and their soft words, actions, thoughts flitting past her. Destinypaw shook her head. This day was not for future, the visions she controlled, or past, the ones that came upon her quite randomly. This day, dreary and gray, was for her.

"One the rainy day a foolish little vole scuttled among the undergrowth, heading home. The long day had been cool and made nice cover for the vole to gather his share of seeds and nuts and roots and berries, and insects too. Now that he had eaten his fill, he would return to his pleasant home among the others and then catch up on the well-needed rest he would find at home. Too bad he'd never make it." Googolpaw said with a smile, leaping. The vole scurried for cover, but the apprentice was atop him in seconds. "A mighty warrior ended his life abruptly, and his rest would be eternal." Googolpaw smiled as he buried his prey. Then the cool, subtle breeze brought with it gentle rain and a she-cats scent. Looking over at the Stone Of Amnesty he noticed Destinypaw sitting alone and looking quite forlorn. Hr hurried over to comfort her. "Hey, Destinypaw."

Destinypaw heard a soft voice and waited paitently for the cat who would bring it to her. She saw him abruptly and heard the same words, only more clearly. Her visions were somewhat unpredictable, but this one had been simple enough. Destinypaw looked down at Gogoolpaw and smiled slightly, not wanting to appear as sad and dreary as she felt.
"Hello, Gogoolpaw. Out for a hunt?" She asked, though she already knew the answer. Flashes of his vole-hunt still spun in his mind, for she caught glimpses ever few moments. But the past was always a very lonely and wild place to go to. Destinypaw didn't like it as much.

Googolpaw nodded and smiled, leaping up onto the rock to join her. He sat and stared out at the great expanse of land, the dark grey clouds ahead, and the fact that everything seemed to wait. Just wait. Waiting for the coming storm. It started very fast, a clap of thunder and the world was in a painful downpour. Googolpaw shaded Destinypaw's with his tail, immediately soaked to the bone. "Wet day, isn't it?" He joked lightly as he whiskers dripped with his laughter.

Destinypaw turned slightly and looked at him with slightly wide eyes, her expression somewhat curious. Then her expression softened and she looked away, smiling a little.
"Yes. But with the rain comes the growth of new life. Anyway, it's refreshing, the rain." She mewed softly, looking up into the grey clouds. The rumble of thunder was not as frightening as it was relaxing. Destinypaw closed her eyes and raised his nose farther into the air, smiling as droplets fell onto her face, sparkling and running down her brown-black-spotted fur.

Googolpaw set his soaking tail down as she obviously enjoyed the rain. He shook droplets, cold and wet, from his head. The rain did bring life, but it was cold and wet. How could she be enjoying this? But he didn't mind so much, her company was nice. Ever since his sister had joined the dark side with Twopaw and Hundredpaw, Googolpaw had no one to talk to. His siblings may not have liked their mother, but Googolpaw knew she loved him and he loved her too. Te rain lightened up slightly and Googolpaw shook his fur again, looking up at the clouds as drops of water fell cold on his face. It was sort of nice.

Although rain was somewhat uncomfortable - damp and cold and causing fur to stick in all angles - its feel was less irritating than Destinypaw could imagine it would be. It felt nice, just relaxing and calming her, taking the pangs in her heart and body and easing them if only a little. She blinked and turned to look at Googolpaw.
"Do you ever wonder what tomorrow will bring?" She asked softly, curiously, her eyes sparkling. She knew well enough that few to no cats had her abilities, and she wanted above all else to know what they would give - those cats who could not see - to have her visions, her knoweldge.

Googolpaw blinked, looking at Destinypaw curiously. Then he looked back up at the sky as the rain eased away as quickly as it had come, leaving only wet puddles and a dark, cloudy sky. He thought about her question a moment and how to answer. Eventually after much silence, he nodded slowly. "Yes, sometimes. Thyme says it is better not to know, but who's he to know himself? I am curious." If he could see where he'd end up, he would never have to make mistakes to get there. Life would be much easier on him.

Destinypaw looked at him keenly and then turned to watch the last of the rain fall. She thought about his words, and wondered at their truth. Perhaps... perhaps it really is better not to know... She thought.
"Maybe with all that has happened, it would be nice to know a few things." She murmured. Though her powers were extraordinary, they were somewhat weak. She could not control what she saw of past or present, and the future when it came to other cats, was always changing. She wished she had a bit of certainty. A sure path that her paws could follow...

"If you knew when death came you could prevent it." Googolpaw said with a sigh. He didn't want to die, no. But mostly he didn't want to lose. Against SilenceCan, he didn't want to die shameful and full of potential. When he died, he wanted to die with meaning and purpose. If he knew, maybe he'd know when his death would come and if it seemed full of greatness.

Destinypaw looked down at her paws, her expression hard to read. She looked troubled, thoughtful, blank... Almost as if the thoughts in her head were too complex for her mind to leave room for normal facial expressions.
"But what if there was no way to stop it? What if your future could never be changed, and you didn't like where it ended?" She asked quietly, thinking of that single dream, that single glimpse, that last breath...

"I think you could always change something. Heck, our decisions make our future. Don't like what you see? Well, you do make it, after all." Googolpaw said with a suspicious smile. Why was Destinypaw so curious about it? Maybe she was just curious, but Googolpaw knew Dreampaw. She was different somehow. Was Destinypaw also different? He shrugged off the thought, but couldn't help wondering - feeling - that something was up.

Destinypaw nodded slightly. He was... he didn't understand, of course, but that didn't matter. His words, which would have comforted another cat, only made Destinypaw feel more laden-hearted. She stared out at the murky fields, the wet lands, and wondered if the sun would ever rise on her destiny.
"I see... I guess that makes sense." She whispered. She felt she had to say something, even though she longed to just stay silent and revel in the dreary sight of the afterspell of rain.

Googolpaw sighed and looked at Dreampaw. The silence that he held after she spoke was a long one, but he knew it hadn't lasted. It was a silence that allowed her words, which had seemed rather phony to the clever tom, hang in the air thick as snow. Thick as the rains around them that drenched the thirsty land. But he finally turned to look at her, and spoke softly. "Do you enjoy knowing what the future holds in store for us?"

Destinypaw looked at him and blinked, surprised. How did he know...? But she couldn't make him suspect her. She blinked and flicked her ear slightly, a curious expression on her face.
"I cannot see our future, so I don't know how I would feel. Perhaps I would be happy, if it were a happy future. Or sad if it was otherwise. I don't know." She meowed, quite honestly. Her powers did not extend to fellow cats. As long as Twolegs or other animals did not come in contact with other cats, she could see them, but never anything about other cats. She felt the loneliness and uncertainty that other cats must feel all the time as she looked at Gogoolpaw. What did the future really hold in store for them?

Googolpaw nodded and turned his head away with a 'hmph'. "Well, the way you asked questions and gave answers, made me suspect you can see something. Like your sister, Dreampaw, is strange. But she doesn't know what makes her different so she can't tell us." Googolpaw said sadly. Dreampaw was certainly the most beautiful cat of the family, but she was so strange. She made Googolpaw feel so strange, and he hated being around her too much. Was he being shallow? "Well, I shouldn't say such outlandish things. I'm sorry." He apologized for suspecting her power.

Destinypaw smiled a little and nodded.
"That's alright. You can speak your mind with me. I will listen. It is true, I have..." She looked up into the clouds, searching for the right words, "Somewhat keen senses. Nothing too unusual, though..." She sighed and stared down at her paws. She wanted so badly to share her secret, but what would happen to her? Would she be hated, thought strange and outcasted because of her strange powers? She couldn't bear to lose everything she had always had in TrueClan.
"And yes. My sister is strange. But perhaps that's what we need in these times. Cats who are different." She mewed gently.

Googolpaw nodded and sighed. "I'm too smart for my own good. And I'm the only kit from Otherstar's second litter that still cares a hair about her." He sighed, shaking his head and wondering how it made their mother feel. She praised Devil's-tail, she loved all nine of her new kits, but the other six were long since forgotten. He wished that maybe she'd start paying more attention to him, but he was so busy anyway. He couldn't ask her a lot, being Leader and a Queen and all. He looked at Destinypaw sadly.
