Ottertail pelted forward, laughing and frolicking as if he hadn't a care in the world. His infamous energy was shown well as he dove head-first into the river, laughing as he emerged and waded in place, watching Flameheart arrive after him.
"A deal's a deal, Medicine cat!" He meowed playfully, lashing his paw and splashing her with a mischevious wink.

Flameheart slowly came to the river's edge. Her green gaze looked at him, glinting mischieviously. She lept in, pulling him down with her.

Ottertail yowled in mock-horror as they were both dunked into the river. He laughed and batted more water at her, his blue eyes sparkling.
"No fair!" He laughed.

Flameheart smiled slyly. You said nothing about being fair she said, splashing water at him. Her blues eyes sparkling.

Ottertail sighed.
"You are right, I didn't. But I sort of thought it was implied." He said, pretending to be upset and pouting a little even as he waded in the river, letting his tail drift down with the current.

Ottertail splashed her and climbed up onto the bank.
"He just might." He said, pulling a comical face as he looked over his shoulder. Then he laughed and shook the water easily from his pelt.

Flameheart climbed from the glistening water. She shook her pelt at the drying Ottertail. She gave him a sly smile before padding away slowly, waiting for him to follow.

The water slid easily from his pelt. Ottertail smiled and followed Flameheart instinctively. He didn't know why he felt so happy around her. He'd had crushes before - so he could identify his fast heartbeat and the warmth of his body - but this one felt so much more intense, he wasn't sure if that was what it was. He trotted up to her and smiled.
"Where we going now, O wise and cheatful Medicine cat?" He asked teasingly.

"It's a surprise" she mewed. She led them towards a clumps of trees. She squeezed between the two large ones, revealing a shady, peaceful haven. This was her favourite place to escape to.

Ottertail's eyes widened.
"Wow. I never even knew this place existed! And that's saying something! It's so beautiful." He meowed, his expression softening. He looked so serene, standing with his tail lowered, his eyes closed, smiling as he just inhaled the beautiful smell of Newleaf flowers and life that thrived in the little secret outlet.

Flameheart smiled. "It's a secret place, that noone else know about" she mewed. She remembered her father showed her this place/

Ottertail smiled at her.
"I'm honored you showed it to me. Just look at all these flowers." He purred, lying on his belly and swatting playfully at some pretty white ones. His tail flicked back and forth, like a kit's, seemingly having a mind of its own.

Flameheart smiled and layed across from him. She stared at the pretty white flowers, memories flooding back to her. This is where she used to come and see C.J, she held back tears, she shouldn't be sad. "So" she mewed.

Ottertail pricked his ears and turned to her, seeing some form of sadness in her eyes. He wondered, and his tail tip twitched a little as he watched her.
"What's wrong?" He asked, concern replacing his usual smile.

Flameheart looked up at him. "It's just where I used to come see my father" she mewed. But it was always somewhere special for her to go.

Ottertail blinked and looked around him.
"Oh. I see. Memories can make a place so special, even if it's sort of sad, don't you think?" He asked, turning and smiling a little at her.

Ottertail nodded.
"You can talk about it, if you like. Otherwise I'm still here for any emotional support you need. Friends have to stick together, right?" He said, smiling. But her face, so downtrodden... it pained him to see it. He knew that he wanted to be... something other than friends, but it was no use. Flameheart was a Medicine cat, and even with this strange new rule that they could have mates, he felt... bad about having feelings towards her. Ottertail was enough outside of the Warrior Code as it was, with his father being fully ShadowClanner in blood. He didn't want to outcast himself, or Flameheart, any more than he had to. Friends will have to do. He thought a bit sadly.

Flameheart nodded, "Friends" she mewed. She felt a strange feeling for him, it was fuzzy and warm. Was it love? she asked herself. It couldn't be she was true to the original medicine cat rules.
