The cool wind blew through the young tom's jet black fur, drying it steadily even as the soft drizzle continued to fall. WindClan trees blocked out most of the sunlight, and so it went with rain as well. Caring little about his slightly dripping coat, Thornshadow trod through his homeland with happiness burning in his heart. Finally a warrior, he thought, turning his head to the sky, and soon to be much more. He yearned to prove himself to his clan, desperately wanted to please all his superiors. One thing would always either annoy or disappoint, however. Thought of as a sign of weakness, many had ridiculed him for his merciful, bleeding heart. Still, he conversed in his mind, none of them had ever complained when that kindness had gone in their direction. Humming slightly to himself as he stepped on the soggy leaves, Thornshadow could smell clanmates nearby. Hoping he wasn't intruding on anything, he headed in their direction.

Badgerstripe sat, undisturbed, in a lump by a stocky maple tree. He had found out his mate, Streamstone, was pregnant, not long before, and was nervous. He had failed his first litter with Streakwater miserably. His first litter probably didn't even know him. He urged himself to do better this time. Thoughts raced through his mind, various ones about what they would look like, how many there would be, and the like. He almost didn't here Thronshadow crunch through the slightly wet geography next to him. He spun around, pointing his orbs in the other cats direction, and dipped his dial respectively. "Hello, Thronshadow," The deputy stated respectively.

Thornshadow turned abruptly, stunned by his deputy's sudden appearance. 'Good morning Badgerstripe' Thornshadow said very brusquely (though not really on porpoise) and dipped his head respectfully at the tom. It hadn't been long ago since he had become a warrior so he still viewed his deputy the same way he did since he was younger and with the same obeisance. He smiled for a moment, briefly reminiscing his early days with his other fellow apprentices and how easy life seemed to be back then. He shook his head and snapped back to reality, admonishing the fact that he was now a warrior and with his deputy. Thornshadow's gaze convoyed the sky and he noticed it was the time of the day when the prey was scattered around the forest, fleeing the pouring rain that was prone to come. It was a perfect time to hunt, so Thornshadow did something quite bold. 'Sir, would you like to go on a hunting patrol right now? It's quite a good time.'
